I wish you'd break down how to cast a shadow onto a surface that isn't the ground plain. Like the shadow cast by a dormer onto the slope of a house roof. I think I do a generally good job of estimating it, but always feel less than confident and wonder if there's a simple "trick" I'm just not getting. Thanks for the simple tutorial on shadows onto the ground, I'm sure it'll help a lot of people.

what's the difference between light direction and light angle? why is the 'light angle' line not pointing to the same direction as the 'light direction'?

@@songbee9861 think of the light direction as being across the floor. If you’ve got a light bulb on top of a pole, the light direction comes towards the object from the base of the pole. The light angle comes from the bulb itself. The higher the bulb, the greater the angle. This will help www.simplydesignsketching.com/downloads/p/how-to-draw-cast-shadows
