How to Ski in One Day | Beginner Learns Parallel Turns

In this how-to ski tutorial, we continue teaching Osman how to ski. At the start of the video, the beginner had just learned plough turns and to be able to do parallel turns we teach him step by step. We start teaching him how to traverse on skis, side slip, then we start skiing faster on steeper slopes, then we gradually make him match the skis higher and higher up in his snowplough turns. By the end of our 2h session, he was skiing parallel but on and off back-seated depending on how fast he was going. If you catch yourself skiing back-seated stop skiing jump a few times to find that good skiing posture then continue skiing a bit slower than before if fear is what is making you skiing leaning back.

Great videos!!!!! I am going skiing for the 4th time and still fear the speed. Maybe not stopping in time. Going down the hill in plow or parallel goes ok, but when the speed pick up i get shaky because i don't want to cause a collision because i don't brake correct. The confidence the plow works is not alwayd there. Any tips on this matter? Regards from Holland.

I went skiing for the 1st time yesterday and it was fun but very hard. The problem i kept facing was my skies were crossing in the back too much and i m not that tall so i cant spread my legs to far apart without totally immobilizing myself. It was definitely a struggle but fun at last. Fell a lot which wasn't fun but again spread yourself out when falling.

(video idea) introduction: i've been skiing since 10 and now im 23, i have a pretty good level of ski on slopes and with powder, and very bad in the park hahaha(thats how i started following you, i ❤ your videos). The video idea: my friends are now starting to ski and some of them with skiis, they want me to be their teacher but idk how to do it well since i never been one. I alway tell them that the best is a professional teacher, thats how i learned but we don't have a lot of money and they don't want. You were a teacher and a very good one, could you make a video from a teacher perspective view? what to look, tips, how to behave when someone gets stuck with someting.....that would be awesome!!! Make it fun and take it slow. Start on the bunny hill almost flat and focus on stopping. If someone can't stop they won't feel safe. Try to teach no more then 1 thing at a time. Give lots of praise. Let people rest when they when want to rest.

I demo'd lots of different skis (Rossi's, Line, Saloman, Armada, etc) before deciding on the Icelantic Nomad 105's. I've been on them for 4 years now and they've changed my life! I was able to begin getting into deeper territory with them almost immediately! I ski trees, back country, groomers, moguls...everything CO has to offer. I can't keep my skis parallel. Front points keeps touching each other or stay close to each other while the rare side always stays away from each other. I try to bring the skis parallel but eventually I end up doing the same. And I can easily do the left turn easily with no much effort but right turn is always difficult for me. And scares me too.
