fav production trick: to achieve sounds that seem really big, it is very necessary to have sounds that seem small. This helps the listener to have a point of perception between what sounds small and "close" and what sounds far away and big.

It's a great tip to add contrast! I like to do that through panning, applying stereo enhancers, to really give each element a place!

Wow this is probably your most approachable tutorial you've done yet! Super solid and exceptionally cool song

My favourite production trick is making ambiences with blure in Edison. You can do it with anything just like guitar/Piano loops or vocals and it just sounds wonderful in the background
@theworldsproject Жыл бұрын
Edison is a really nice tool for editing audio, and it comes with FL :)

You're an amazing producer and a very good teacher. You're also very articulate and well spoken. I was checking out your books behind you as well, good reads. I subscribed.

fav production trick: For a powerful sub-bass, I use 2 oscillators. 1st osc = Saw wave at -1 octave, 2nd osc = Square wave at -2 octave. Then I add LP filter and soft-clip distortion. This sub is much more powerful and present in the mix as compare to the simple sine wave sub-bass.

I would say one of my favorite mixing trick is using fruity peak controller on reverb, which ducks it whenever the sound plays. This makes it sooo much cleaner!
@theworldsproject Жыл бұрын
I do that all the time!

My favourite production technique is using binaural panning on a kick drum and placing the pan at the dead centre of the mix it makes the kick drum pop on another level that I can’t seem to manage to do with any other technique
@theworldsproject Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing, I haven’t heard about this trick before!

My favorite mixing trick is using sidechaining bass. When my rookie time I don't know about sidechaining and my bass and kick become so messy. When I was learned sidechain technic thinks become so clean.
@theworldsproject Жыл бұрын
Yes, sidechaining is absolutely essential!

here is a mixing tip to get a consistent bass throughout your track, tack your bass track, print it to audio, make two duplicates of the bass, first bass cut the low and mids, and second bass cut the high and mids, third bass cut high and low and add a little bit of saturation, and adjust the volume between those basses til your liking.

A super simple but sick production tip is to get doubles out of any consistent 4 bar loop, move the 2nd half of the loop to a new track and pan both tracks hard left and right, then duplicate them out to fill up your song section.

An underrated mixing technique is to sidechain eq your vocals to the instrumental track so that the vocals don't clash with the parts of the instrumental. Also, we do the eq as we only need to affect the frequencies where the vocals are and not the rest (bass).
@theworldsproject Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's great to have control like that over elements! I'm a big user of FabFilter's Pro-MB and more recently Trackspacer to side-chain specific frequencies :)

My favorite production skill is to sidechain the reverb because sometimes the reverbed sound could interference the kick and will make the kick weak.
@theworldsproject Жыл бұрын
Yes, side-chaining the reverb signal is really useful! I'd also recommend doing the same on bass!
