How to Slalom - FPV Drone Racing - Velocidrone tutorial 🍿 | MaiOnHigh

Good tips. Should be nice to have a library of maneuver tutorials. My main advice, is think about getting to the meat of the video faster. Especially for tutorial type stuff, you want to get to the instruction in the first 10-15 seconds or less. (this isnt as big of a thing in normal discussion type stuff). You start closer to about 1 min 30 in. Move the call to subs and other stuff to the end, or add some time code tags so people can skip straight to the part they are looking for in the video.

Yeah I just wanted to make an intro to this one longer as itsel first and wanted to just present an idea. I agree that it's waaaay too long. I will be making a library of tutorials for sure!

There is a park by my house with a straight line of trees that I use to practice slaloms. Trees work really well for flags when you are practicing.

Don’t forget to Breathe when the adrenaline hits when you mess up. Then calmly move your sticks and get the quad straight. And do it as quickly as possible with out completely blowing it. 👍

First of all, I love the idea to train on these custom maps! Would really help me to train on the basic skills. It does seem however that gate 8 and 9 on the track are placed at the same point? This means I would have to do the last gate of each round twice. Not sure if im doing something wrong?

@@MaiOnHigh Went into edit mode to check, Seems like the start/end gate is set to start/finish aswell as the final gate for each round (If that makes sense). Seems like I'm to only one with this Issue though. So, yeah, In case anyone else has this problem. This works for me!

I’ve been lazy with my drones lately. I keep procrastinating on things they need done. I need like a deadline or something. I need to get out of this “funk”. Do you fly any whoops indoors these days? Someone released a kit that’s like a multiplayer combat system for drones, so that you can tag each other in flight. It sounds awesome and a lot of fun, but I’m curious as to how well it works. Personally, I don’t know any other pilots IRL for a multiplayer drone game.

Depending on where you wanna fly. Multigp has it's own rules, fai and others different. Sometimes I go to a race where there is a flag every 5 "big steps" I used around 7meters 🤔

Thank you for your videos. It would help if you explained the actual stick motions needed, i.e. when to roll, yaw, pitch forwards / backwards. Maybe it is obvious to others, I am very much an Acro noob, trying to transition from Angle. If so please feel free to point me to more basic videos.

Sure! This is why you see the stick input in sim and there's a camera on my hands! It's hard to describe when. It's kind of like answering "when do you start stopping the car?" It's the feeling and muscle memory. A lot of training ☺️ but point taken!

If anybody thinks that simulator is too expensive/doesn't want to spent money right now there is on steam "worlds adrift island creator" and it has a built in drone simulator and tons of maps and powerfull editor, but no race interface so more of learning tool and understanding how to fly than hardcore training. but some islands are truly epic to fly around
