2 things that have transformed the way I buy clothes and wear them, learning my shape and learning to use a sewing machine to alter my clothes. I always described my self as a uk size 12/14 but I’ve found that I’m more like a 16 in some brands on some days. Many factors can affect your size, hormones, bloating etc. I tend to buy bigger if I’m torn between 2 sizes and tailor to my measurements if necessary 👗
@naomiomi73402 ай бұрын
This is sooooooo key. Learn shape and what suits your body needs. Then tailor to fit that shape. Makes SUCH a difference. Sometimes for me, just hoisting the whole garment up at the shoulders by 1 or 2 inches takes a dress from meh to yessss! Sometimes buying a size bigger, so you have space where you need it and altering the rest is the beat course of action.
@Justagirlok1012 ай бұрын

Yeah for a while I was very fit and thin…my clothing sizes literally ranged from size 2 to size 12 and they ALL fit. Some depends on branding and some depends on the AGE of clothes. Vintage clothing sizes will tend to be a bigger number than clothes nowadays. Also Asian sizes are WAY different than US sizes. I’m like an XL in US but a 3-4XL in Asian sizes.

Loved this Danielle! And yay for the fall fashion content! No shade (but shade LOL!) I LOVE to see ANYTHING other than Shein, Target, and Zara content. Let's continue amplifying other mid- to upper-range ($$ or $$$) brands, boutiques and/or other retailers. Love the content you've done with Dilliards, Nordstrom, small businesses and stores like that. Also love styling/what to wear to... (airport, festivals, elevated casual..ski trip..etc) types of videos as well.
@NoreeneBailey-Treece2 ай бұрын
I would only add don't be stuck on a size number. Not all clothing manufacturers sizes are consistent. It's better to size up and tailor to fit your body. An outdoor also will look better if it's looser and you're not straining your seams and buttons. I'll wear anything from an xl, 16 to 2x and 20. It really depends on the garment. Our bodies also fluctuate a few pounds back and forth through the month. It's nice to have things to wear on your thinner or fluffier days.
@krisrb33412 ай бұрын
For fall….definitely wide calf boots, always a challenge to get a classic pair that are not too trendy. I would recommend maternity clothes. Also going to your doctor to see if anything hormonal is going on. Also see what they recommend for losing that weight because abdominal weight is the most dangerous kind. It's not about being cute and skinny but literally getting that fat from around your heart and organs. That's why men with pot bellies are at high risk of heart attack and strokes. Take care sis

Thank you for saying what you said. As a plus size girlie I definitely used to feel as though my body was not deserving of cute clothes. I know that it is important to lose weight for our health, but it is also important to love your body in its current state and all along the way in your weight loss journey. This is important because if you constantly have a self-loathing relationship with your body then you will continually sabotage your efforts to lose weight or get to better health. That's why sis is emphasizing that we need to know that we are cute. We are worthy of wearing cute clothes I'm feeling confident no matter our size.
