I have to sympathize with everyone looking for some kind of relief because I am there and I mean, I am there. Disc protrusions in the lumbar spine with a pinched nerve. The nerve pain going down my entire right leg have brought me to my knees, or the floor and I know crying doesn’t help, but I do it anyway. Better than screaming out the four letter word in the middle of the night. Since finding you two, Bob and Brad, the most popular physical therapists on the internet, I have laughed with you and I have tried some of the moves you demonstrated and they have helped somewhat. Wish I could see one of you for PT instead of who I am seeing now. Thank you❣️

Been having harniated disc for 5 years now, i was 17 years old when i got it first time because i was careless about doing to much sports, i went to doctor and he gave me exercises for some muscle strength or stretches idk what they call it and then after like 1-2 months of daily exercises somehow all pain is gone but now 5 years later today it's back again because again i was careless not doing exercises for back muscles so in case everyone has it, if possible never stop doing training because it is worthy

But seeing these two goofy and knowledgeable doctors interact puts a smile on my face. I’m gonna try my best to do the exercises to see if I can try to fix this disc or at least make it a little more bearable. Thanks Docs!

Have had some sort of issue for about 3 years and I can't tell you how much this helped. I have a whole range of motion in my lower back now that I'd completely forgotten about. I don't think I realised just how bad the pain was because it feels incredible and all it took was a few hours of doing these! I've been on a waiting list to be seen for months and this has definitely fast tracked my recovery!

Guys, “Thank you” just doesn’t seem like enough. I slipped a disc 2 weeks ago, and ever since, sleeping has been absolutely miserable. At 3:00 this morning, I found this video, and I went back to bed with an ice pack tucked into my pants and a pillow under my feet (I’m a side sleeper). It took about 5-10 minutes for the pain to ease up, but once it did, I was out like a light. Thank you so much. I’ve seen 3 doctors and 4 physical therapists. All of them said “heat, heat, heat!” But your suggestion of ice was what finally stopped the spasms. I could kiss you both! 😊😂

I have been sleeping on the floor for the past 7-8 years, and only on my left side or my right side. At the moment I am going through another no walking phase. My lower back is swollen and the muscles around the spine feel rock hard. I’m hunched over. And I think it’s crutches time. Everything is Hell. Can’t sit, can’t stand, can’t do anything. I stopped playing sports. It was the worst thing to ever happen to me. No more soccer, football, basketball etc. I just want to run again. I miss running. I miss sports and being athletic. I was recommended surgeries from 2-3 different “spine specialists” which I rejected. I am going to try your sleeping on the back method. Hopefully, I can get some relief.

Have you done a video on how to sleep with Spondylolithesis? Sleeping in a recliner has GREATLY improved my sleep. I can now sleep 10 hours without hardly any pain. What I've discovered is that: 1. There's no pain when my butt is lower than my legs and upper body. Basically, when my butt is like in a deep groove 2. I don't use my back muscles if I turn left or right. I use my feet on the recliner part that is raised and it helps me move instead of having to move my butt on it's own (like it a bed) 3. having a side (the arm rests) helps me to bend my knee and hold it up while I sleep I know all these sound crazy, but I'd like to start sleeping in a bed with my husband (I've been in the recliner for 6 months now).

I've had pain for the last few weeks, particularly bad first thing in the morning (sciatic pain down my left side, struggling to put my socks on, etc.). This morning I woke up with the least pain I've felt in a while. I slept on my front last night. From the little information I've seen online, if you have a paracentral lumbar disc herniation (which is what I guess I have), then sleeping on your stomach can be the best position. It's awkward at first, I have just tried it with a combination of sofa cushions and creating and overall sleeping area that feels most feasible, but I have no shooting pain down my leg today.

My thoracic is killing me. It's fine during the day, but pain wakes me up after 3-4 hours. The pain starts between shoulder blades and can radiate around to the front through ribs and onto sternum. I've had CT Scans that show calcification on disc between T6-T7, but the reviewing Dr didn't come up with any herniation. I'm convinced I have a herniated disc. The exercises, stretches for thoracic is not working. I've spent thousands on a new mattress, osteopath and chiropractor treatments, different tests. I'm at a loss right now.

I have a herniated disc, bulging disc, spina bifida occulta, and osteogenesis imperfecta. 3 years ago i was pushed backwards down concrete stairs. Theres about 30 steps and i landed on the 7th step on my lower back. I wasnt able to stand or walk on my own for almost 2 weeks. Now i cant walk or stand for anymore then 5-10 minutes at a time without severe pain and leg weakness most days. There are days i lose all feeling in my legs when i stand or walk and collapse to the floor and takes 5-40 minutes to regain feeling in my legs and beable to get up off the floor. Is there any techniques you could reccomend for this? I have been told by 2 neurosurgeons and a orthopedic surgeon that a chiropractor visit is a definite no because of my osteogenisis. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me

Sometimes when the pain is unbearable, the best thing you can do is go in. Sometimes it's great, other times not so great. Recently I woke up and could not stand straight. After about a day I noticed intense weakness in my legs. Previously I have had a lower back herniation but most of the pain went away. This is what I think is a new injury. Anyways, I collapsed on the floor and tore a muscle near the disc herniation in the process. I was a turtle on my back on memorial day. We called the ER and my insurance covered it. They strapped me in a "spider strap" took me to the hospital, gave me a painkiller and an abdominal support and expected me to go home. Lol. Well I did go home in agonizing pain in another ambulance. It was funny because a bunch of older gentleman were trying to guide me into a seat in the ambulance and they literally dropped me on the chair which was incredibly painful. I had teary eyes the entire time. I felt almost as if they thought I were lying about my pain. Anyways, I wish they did an MRI because I think I have another herniated disc which is the main cause of all of this new pain. The best thing that came out of it was the abdominal support and I have recently been doing some Mackenzie stretches which ease the pain now a few weeks after but did absolutely nothing in the beginning. My back is straight with a slant to the right side due to spasm. Keep making progress guys. Just thought I'd share this story because I'm tired of living in constant pain. I'm going to make some adjustments such as wearing suspenders and getting a posture correcter. I don't care if the suspenders are goofy I like them lol! Wearing a belt puts way too much pressure on my lower back and starts really hurting at the end of the day. Hope everyone is doing ok! ✌

We have a bed that raises the head and foot of our bed. I think we are using it wrong because my husband (who has 2 herniated discs) wakes up in pain. Can you do a video on tips for setting beds like ours for comfort?

is it a good, or bad idea to have a heating pad on your hip, where the pain is? the first night I tried this, I woke up laughing, because I had no pain, however I think I celebrated too early, because now (still use the pad) it only seems to work while it's on my hip, however, the pain IS still insanely bad.

+physicaltherapyvideo I, like many people unfortunately can't afford to go to therapy at this time, so in the meantime, until I can afford it, home remedies, and stretches are all I can rely on at this time.

Can anyone tell me why sleeping in a hammock instead of a bed helps prevent and lower the extreme pain I wake up with ever time. I've got mild scoliosis and "2 herniated disks" and I've found a hammock to be so much more reliable to sleep on

Ive had herniated discs for 3 years, l4 and s1, causing extremely painful sciatica in left leg, when I lay down to sleep I feel my lower back pop and it hurts bad especially if I lay on my side. No doctors want to take me because of insurance, spent tons of money at a very reputable chiro and still no help, pain is getting worse. I don't know what to do anymore.
