I have a different slicer but it worked beautifully… my dad has requested his loaves be sliced now as well! Hahaha

Couldn't you use the bread deflector for anything? What's the point of having 2 guards?

Not sure. The company designed it that way. Sure it could be used for other things.

Where do you find the red machine? I only see the silver machine on Amazon.

I think you are cutting one to many times on each edge. The end piece is suppose to be a little thicker.
