Echoing Wanda’s comment! I needed that edge demo at minute 3:49 and I finally found it here. Also, very good visuals (no distracting background), clear direction, to the point, and I like your calm voice.

Can i ask how you would know whether to slip with yarn in front or in back for the 1st stitch of each row if not specified in pattern?
@TheUnapologeticKnitter4 жыл бұрын
I would say that generally you want to keep the yarn in the position that it's in. If the end of the previous row was a knit stitch, when you turn to the other side your yarn will be in front so you'll probably want to slip the stitch with the yarn in front. The opposite if you ended with a purl stitch: when you turn the working yarn will be in back so you'll probably want to slip with the yarn in back. I hope that helps!

Hello, I am knitting a scarf which has P1, wyif, sl 3 st purlwise, P1 in the middle of the row. When I purl the stitch after the 3 slipped stitches, should I knit it with a long strand across them or pull it a bit tighter.. Thanks!
@mfisher41183 жыл бұрын
You want to try to purl that final stitch with as regular a tension as you can (I know that's a bit tricky!). You just want to be sure that you aren't pulling the strand tight so that the 3 slipped stitches pucker. You want them to all lay flat.

Hi UN. Thank u so much for this video. If I knit to last 3 sts do bring yarn in front then slip?
@TheUnapologeticKnitter4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that’s right. Move the yarn to the front between the needles and slip the stitches purlwise.

Wow ! This is fantastic! Quick question. For this swatch tutorial, how many stitches did you cast on? I really need to try this it’s the first tutorial that is throughly done ✅

Thanks, Carla! If you expand the explanation below the video (click the "show more") all of the details are there. We cast on 36 stitches! Happy knitting!

Question - do we always slip the stitch(es) purl wise, no matter where the slip stitches are
@TheUnapologeticKnitter6 жыл бұрын
Julia Shashi Yes! Unless of course the directions say explicitly to slip knitwise it’s always purlwise.

What is ytf in knitting
@TheUnapologeticKnitter4 жыл бұрын
I think it means "yarn to front"; so you would move your working yarn to the front between the needles as if to purl the next stitch.

I need to know what a letter D means with pearl 12 then the letter D
@TheUnapologeticKnitter Жыл бұрын
I’m afraid I don’t know what a D as a stand alone might mean. Can you provide an actual line of instructions? I might be able to figure out from that. The other thing to use as a reference: if it’s an intentional abbreviation in a pattern it should, in theory, be listed in the glossary of terms. If it’s not in the glossary, you may wish to reach out to the designer to see if they can help.
