Freezing may impact the texture of your fruit when it thaws, but fresh fruit retains its natural texture better. Studies on blueberries and nutrition have shown that since blueberries are frozen soon after they are picked, they are equal in quality to fresh. people erroneously believe that “fresh is best”, but when it comes to berries, the frozen varieties have a higher concentration of nutritional elements … Frozen fruit and vegetables are frozen shortly after they've been harvested and this helps to preserve the nutrients until you eat them. Fresh or frozen, fruit and vegetables that don't have any added ingredients are healthy choices.

You're name is missing an n. Your folks should have checked the spelling before they named you in the hospital. (I obviously know because I have that name. And, I've researched it. The correct spelling is Jeannette. It is a French name, and means JohnClean, or JohnNeat. We are named after John The Baptist. Which is why it is a guy's name that just happens to also be given to girls, like Danielle, and Dominique. (Americans treat French "unisex" names as girl names out of ignorance... It sounds, and looks prettier than English, so they give it to girls.) (Any site that claims it is anything but French, that claims mispelings are correct, or "variations," or that claims it means something like "gift of god," are scammers who did not research the name. (The most common false claims are retards who say everything is Hebrew, and invent meanings about the Monotheist god.) There are a LOT of scammers in this area of study. Every so many months a new website full of lies pops up. With those websites, you really get maybe a 25% chance at best that whatever they claim is right. One is best off personally researching the subject.)) There should be a free name spelling correction in our country for those incidents...

Haminette 'Ette' is simply a diminutive, feminine ending in French. For example: camion (truck) and camionnette (van), hache (axe) and hachette (small axe), noix (walnut) and noisette (hazelnut). The same is true for names: Paul, Paulette; Claude, Claudette; etc. Can you show me evidence of any male person living or historical called Jeannette?
@Haminette10 жыл бұрын
***** No, I didn't. You apparently have them mixed up. "You're" is "you are." "Your" is "you" possessing the following noun in the sentence. So, you run around the internet faking intellectuality, faking superiority, and/or trolling, and cyberbullying by asserting that people mixed up similar words when you don't even know? Have you ever before heard the sentence, "You need to get a life?" Because, "you need to get a life."

Sergio Nelson You know you're a faux intellectual when you can't even use correct spelling, and grammar, and don't even bother to use the edit option to fix it after to not look like you have difficulty with literacy. Lower the volume of your ego, because I'm not going to magically become incorrect just because it makes you mad that you're not as intelligent as I am.
@Haminette10 жыл бұрын
Dan Phillips Wrong. Feminizing does add a second t, and an e. But, "Jeannette" is not a female name, it is not feminized. Meanwhile, "nette" is an Old French word, which paired with "Jean" makes it a name based off "John The Baptist." That is clearly the origin of the name. You actually think that the French are giving their boys, and men girls' names?

Is there a recommended amount of blueberries? Should they be consumed daily? Like most of us, I also love blueberries, and was having about 3/4 cup per day, a bit too much sugar and carbs for a plant based keto diet, but I wanted to gain a little weight. It helped add weight, but I think the fruit sugar in the blueberries caused a bad rash and bloating. I cut down to 1/4 cup, every 3 days, and the symptoms are calming down, but I'm not sure if this amount is enough to get the brain benefits.

So ... if blueberries are good ... what about other berries ... would they be as good, not quite as good or better? What about strawberries, or goji berries, raspberries? Do they have to be blue/purple? I like grape juice, but it is too sugary and sweet. How did these relationships between plants and diet ever evolve like this? Amazing.
@AstralS7orm10 жыл бұрын
There are many phenolic antioxidants in various plants... they generally serve a purpose in plant metabolism, UV protection, signalling, antimicrobials etc. Berry antocyanidins and polyphenols are likely just more effective as antioxidants and the combination might just be better. The other berries are less effective, mostly because anthocyanidin content is much lower, but perhaps also something else as well.

Dr. Greger, I've been following you for quite some time now and have been plant-based going on 4 yrs now. I take a protein supplement as I play sports, go to the gym 5 times per week, expending a lot of calories from both cardio and weight training. My question is, my protein powder is derived from non-gmo yellow peas. That's it that's all. In its amino acid breakdown, I noted that it contains methionine, albeit a small amount - 211 mg per serving (24 g). Is this amount significant?

Cognitive decline can also be confused for years of brain-fog,caused by yeast overgrowth in antibiotic-consuming and diabetic people. The ellagic acid in berries,taken over time, breaks down the biofilm so that the body can eliminate the excess yeast, eventually leading to greater clarity. Why wont Doctor Greger do more studies on candida overgrowth,biofilms, and nutrition?
@MooJoo555510 жыл бұрын
why don't you do it?
@IResonateWithU10 жыл бұрын
MooJoo5555 I have read so many studies but my problem is that not all of the study-sites allow you full access beyond the study's abstract. Dr Greger really is the best at what he does, hope he gets inspired since so many people are being diagnosed with overgrowth related illness like adrenal fatigue.
@AstralS7orm10 жыл бұрын
***** Attributing "brain fog" which is highly non-specific to a truly specific cause such as "yeast overgrowth" (whatever that means), requires very strong data. Care to post some of it? I'm pretty sure yeast-related illnesses are quite uncommon even in women. (who tend to have UTI more commonly) If that is truly a possible cause, antibiotics would also work - most kinds of yeast are not resistant.

Increasing berry consumption would be easier if there was less mold, unripe berries, and over-ripe/rotting berries in our supermarkets, and if we could tell such problems were there prior to purchase to better select berries before wasting money. Produce quality in this country is rapidly declining, just as fertile soil is rapidly declining, because McFarmers are not practicing proper farming practices, and are going to eventually give us another Dust Bowl. Got some grapes last shopping day... They day of purchase, I take a whole bit of grapes on a vine together... EVERY LAST GRAPE ON THAT VINE WAS BAD! REALLY BAD! So, this was not just how badly she picked produce, the whole lot of grapes lately is probably garbage!

Yeah, mold is a problem not just for supermarket shopping, but for farmers as well. Berries of all kinds are notorious for attracting mold, so farmers douse them with very high levels of fungicides/pesticides. So organic is best, but VERY expensive. Seems there's a lot of room for improvement in growing methods as well as storage methods.

And the Grain Brain guy claims that carbs cause Alzheimer's. Laughable.
@weneedmoreconsideratepeopl40063 жыл бұрын
Actually it kinda does. In excess. Simple carbs convert to sugars the more it gets digested. So basically: more carbs = more sugars. Unless they're complex carbs from fiber-rich food. Like grains. That's the ultrasimplified explanation. But if you want detailed studies, you have those people doing serious research on that. Grain is better for those with a sympathetic-dominant metabolic body type. Like the Japanese, you know, Asians... I'd also recommend less dairy products unless they're plant-based. It feeds cancer. Anyway, that aside, what's laughable about their research? You sound like you're mocking them. Are you an aspiring researcher too?
