Legend, thanks man! Really helpful, I wasn't sure how to make it so the pitch doesn't drop.

VLC media player does that without changing pitch. I use it for tabbing songs, even from video. But I just started getting into Reaper having gotten an interface for Christmas. Cool video.

is there a way to only to use that for one track and not every track?
@Oomsham5 жыл бұрын
You can right click on the track, go to item properties, and then enter the playback rate for that specific track.

You can do the same thing with Audacity, which is free and also available cross-platform: www.lifewire.com/audacity-tutorial-change-songs-speed-without-affecting-pitch-2438167

+Kurt Papke absolutely, Kurt. I did it with Reaper because I use Reaper; I'm not a big fan of Audacity. (Although I haven't used it in a long time).
@KurtPapke7 жыл бұрын
Audacity has come a long way. I'm no expert on audio editing software, but Audacity is pretty standard in academic settings, etc. I use it because it's the tool Librivox uses.

You can't create sounds in audacity , unlike reaper you can with reasynth

Hi love your tutorial. Just one question is there a way to change pitch of audio items like in Ableton ? Where you set the pitch and Reaper automatically updates visually the waveform. like the way a turntable works you speed it up the waveform should be shorter or you slow it down by making the audio longer?
@adkpiper6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking, Bryan! I haven't used Ableton, so I don't know, but I'm hoping someone else might have the answer and share it with you. Good luck!

I think there is a way to change the pitch.. best place I've found for questions like this is either reddit /reaper or the cuckos forums. As far as I can tell, I'm pretty sure you just add an "fx" option which is a button to the right side of the "M" or the "S" button, when you click that, it turns green. After clicking it will pull up several "VST" options. if you type "pitch" in the search window and pick "VST:RealPitch" that will allow you to modify the section that you're after. If I can help more, shoot me a message, I'd be glad to try.

@@adkpiper hi hope you read this. When record myself on reaper... I play in G, i find that the playback is in a lower chord. How do I fix this?
@adkpiper5 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I'm not sure, but I'd check to see whether the master playback speed is misconfigured or there's a pitch shift effect set for either the track or the master bus. Good luck!

@@adkpiper thanks i would appreciate it. Makes it difficult to add another instrument... For example if i would like to add a guitar.. Not the same key as the recording.

I got a question. can you slow down one track instead of the entire song?
@NateJacobMusic6 жыл бұрын
Ray, I don't know, but I think the best place to check is on "Reaper Mania"s channel. He's got tons of stuff there and I think you'll grab a better answer that way or on the reddit forums or reaper forums.
