Nice setup for a small space like this, I was just wondering if it was possible to loose the spotty top lights and introduce your own light from above, but probably time and space constraints ain’t allowing it, maybe some CRLS reflectors will help. Those spotty top lights are just introducing quite a bit of multiple shadows with unflattering hard look. Also if your are using the Atmos recorder, if you have access to the EL zone false colour, use that instead, it will be much more accurate with exposure mapped to the log gamma you are shooting at. But that would probably also mean you have to choose to shoot with slog3 and burn in the viewing LUT instead of s-cinetone.

Great stuff! How do you find shooting with the dual A7iv? I use mine occasionally paired with an A7Siii and every now and then it will overheat and we have to interrupt the shoot.
@PDMokry
@PDMokry 3 ай бұрын
The overheating issues are happening more with usb power and hdmi out. I make sure to keep the camera in airplane mode also. But I do overheat from time to time anyway.

Diggin this setup. I have the exact same gig next month. How are you color grading with S Cinetone? Where should the false colors be for S Cine? What white balance did you shoot this in? What was the name of the app for the light?

Loved the setup, and explanations. You've sold me on the f22c, just have one question. Does your Amaran f22c have fan noise in the control box? I hear conflicting reports. Also need to point out that I just subbed, and this is my second video of yours. Generally I'm a video quality snob, but for these one man behind the scenes videos, it's actually crazy that you're able to work AND film these at the same time. Watched the whole thing and didn't once think about the GoPro quality. Just grateful it was captured, and grateful for your train of thought narrative of all the steps. Great content man. I'm gonna be watching your whole channel backwards in my spare time now lmao. Keep it up!

Nicely done. Have you considered brining a hairdresser's mannequin head for your framing and rough lighting? They're about $25. Just put them on a stand at the approximate height of the talent and frame/light them as you would a stand-in. They never complain, they don't move around.

Amazing video, thank you! 2 questions: 1. My instinct would be to turn house lights off to avoid unflattering shadows under eyes etc and maybe bounce an additional light to add room tone. But I guess you rely on your colour-matched key light to fill in any unflattering shadows there might be? 2. Are there any rules for shooting a wide and tight using 2 cams in roughly the same camera position? My guess is to try and get both cams as close as possible, do you always put wide nearest interviewer etc Thank you!

Thanks for sharing. Those tight spaces can be a real challenge, you nailed it though, with two cameras, two lights and a boomed mic. Great stuff. Do you ever get tempted to use a radio lab instead just to cut down on big gear in your space?

For b-roll with this little movement, why not just shoot handheld? Seems like that would be a lot easier and faster. What's your experience with the FX3 IBIS?
