1:02 - 1:52 I totally get Lynette. I am super introverted. I need not just a week's leadtime, I also will consider where, what, who, and what time we'll end. And then I'll think about what time I'll get home after that, and does that leave me any time to recharge, do my daily stuff, before getting ready for the next day and going to bed. That's why I never like going out on weekday nights.

Need to differentiate between shy/confident vs introvert/extrovert. Completely different things but people like to conflate the two. Almost half of the world is introverted. Just like half the world is girls and half the world is considered stupider than average. Stop the obsession over introvert/extroverts.

15:15 YES! That is very very true. Introverts are often overlooked at the workplace because we tend not to voice out as much or as often, and are thus seen as not having any ideas or thoughts or opinions, or anything useful to contribute. Hence, not possessing leadership qualities.

Maybe you could do an episode on insecurities such as growing up and navigating life with acne/scars and how they manifest in all aspects of life be it work and dating and socialising

Great idea. The years I had really bad acne were the most anxiety-filled years that really affected my sense of self. Acne and its effects are not often understood or talked about!

100% hit right for an introvert ❤❤❤❤ people also think that I don’t smile and think that I’m not welcoming or rude aff. But I love this topic even more!! Please have more talk on such different personality traits, I find it really relatable

I really enjoyed the conversations! It was well-covered in such a genuine and natural manner. I totally related to how everyone seemingly defined based on their extroversion and introversion and sometimes the society straight jumped to the conclusion that introverts are rude when they just tired or quiet.

30:26 Oh I will never ever be early alone for a work call. Before I join the call, I will make sure I'm with a colleague whom I can talk with, who's also suppose to be in the call so there'll at least be someone else. If it's not a work call, I'll join the room late so I can skip all the small talk. I hate being late, but I'm ok with being frowned upon for my lateness than being super uncomfortable with the small talk that I have to engage in. I guarantee you there will be such awkward silence, or monosyllabic responses from me, that even the extroverted party will start to regret being early. If they give me a compliment, I don't know how to respond. Cos I always think I'm just ok, just average only, nothing much to compliment about.

Hey Joey, perhaps the way you process things is to talk it out whereas for Charlie, he processes things on his own so he doesn’t initiate much. I’m like you and that’s why I always bring things up and I don’t think it’s necessarily bad. It’s just the way we process things.

Despite consistently receiving positive feedback about my work and even being promoted a couple of times, I have often been told during performance appraisals that I need to be vocal in the office and less reserved? I’m getting to the point where I’m tempted to tell the extroverts to talk less instead. 😅

Totally relatable to me 😢 I find it still hard to be more vocal and making the first move or action in my office

Can relate to that definitely 😂 Respect lynette for confessing as introvert. I feel like people judge me when they know that i am introvert

I'm totally exactly like her. If I have someone I'm not close to and we are gg in the same direction, I will make an excuse to go the other way, making one big round to avoid riding w the person. 😅

yup I am that sort of couch friend i am a mix i prefer quiet couch time than small talk and agree with Joie puts it people assume , have expectation , that since you are extroverted you have to be the person to carry on the conversation in the social setting of a dinner or what.

If I was to have a kryptonite, it would be small talk. Small talk puts barriers in between people. You never get to have a real conversation with each other because no one wants to move on from small talk or they don't know how to move on. The way I see it, ditch the small talk and go for the meat and potatoes. Ask me something else other than "how was your weekend?" Switch it up. Why keep on going with the same old, boring small talk. Say what's really on your mind. Let's talk about it. Im introverted but I like having interesting and intellectual conversations. Small talk makes me wanna go insane.
