Good vid. Anyone starting out using a Weber Kettle should see this. I have done the snake with wood chunks several times on my 26” Kettle. I get almost eight hours at 225-275 with coals stacked exactly like he does in this vid and wrapped about half of the way around.

Very cool. I’ve got a propane grill and a Traeger smoker. But I’m getting more and more stoked for the weber kettle. 👍🔥

I used my Weber premium with the diffuser the other day but only got about 4 hours before coals died and it's not easy to add charcoal once going. I'll give this a try next time. Many thanks!

You get a longer smoke if you stack the briquettes vertically. This is called the Snake Method.

Oh brother… I gotta ask a Bronco Fan? 😣 Dare I trust it? Welp, here goes (I guess)… Please explain “vertically”. Are you stacking your coals like he does, but on edge? Or are you stacking maybe three or four coals in a single column all around the edge of your kettle?
