1st very nice pit. Love it. I gave a big thumbs up on this one. I agree with you on the 2,2,1. That is a perfect guide for babybacks. They just dont need that extra hour like spare or st louis. Take care brother.

Luvy, did u start the smoker with a coal base , then add the splits wood. Also how much did u open the damper. Thanks

George Watson hey man...hope you are well. Yes, my cooker now is a vertical smoker. The damper is all the way open and I have a large heat shield elevated 3-4 inches above that for air flow. I use to own a 30x70 reverse flow. I used the warmer so much I sold it and had Tyler build me this first vertical smoker on a trailer. I use about 1/4 of a bag of charcoal to start and then add small splits to keep it at 250. Thank you for checking out!!

Luvy was going on, at your leisure please do a video on how to manage your heat from the firebox to the smoker. I really enjoyed a past video of a cook u did were u informed how many splits were used for the cook. Also the temperature gauge u r using thanks again

George Watson hey man. We are in the works on creating a video on top five things for a new owner of a pit. Managing fire is one of them. Thank you for checking this video out. Try this method on baby back ribs. They were killer!!

On that vertical smoker we’re you like to cook more, lower middle or upper rack?
@luvysfatlife
@luvysfatlife 4 жыл бұрын
I like to keep it in the middle the most. Each have their advantage. One caution is the top rack and NOT covering or blocking the air flow. I did that once with several pans stacked and it stalled it out until I corrected.

I dumped the 3-2-1 method forever....I am all 2-2-1....no reason to smoke ribs for 6hrs. The tinfoil cover keeps all the good stuff in

Sealot thanks for watching. This is what many on the bbq circuit use for that one bite taste in contest. You can substitute that with real butter or mayo. If you want healthier, there are other options.
