Hi Ben, I'm In the process of setting up my exterior cleaning business are your products look ideal. Did you have to plug the gutters up to stop any run off? or is that normally the general procedure for using this product?. Cheers.

Hi Mark, This is a snippet from one of our Trade Tips posts: WHAT'S THE SIMPLEST WAY TO BLOCK GUTTERS & DOWNPIPES? Q: When soft washing a roof, what’s the simplest way to block the down pipe? And what do you do with the run off? A: A tennis ball can work well to block a downpipe. The amount of run off will be minimal if you use skillful spray techniques and should not be a problem. The small quantity of product that does run into the gutter and into the downpipes will more than likely have been largely, or even completely, broken down by organic material. It can be further diluted with tap water prior to removing the tennis ball and allowing it to flow into the downpipe. Quick tips: 1) The downpipe can often be diverted into a foul drain (not a surface or storm drain). 2) Alternatively, divert run-off into a container and use the contents to give a quick clean of your customer's paths. 3) Or, divert into a container and remove from the site. Thanks. I'm curious to know where I can find the nylon blade to fit on a pole. Also, it looks like you were fortunate to have a flat roof at the base. Doing that scraping from a ladder without stepping on the slate (risking breaking) is surely tough. I just worked on a roof on Saturday and I didn't scrape because it was too high and dangerous to do from a ladder. I need to figure out a safer way, short of getting a lift or some more complicated option but the key is to be able to do it quickly and affordably.

Hi Gary, here is a link to the scraper which has nylon blade. You can also buy separately from same page:www.benzsoftwash.com/products/roof-moss-scrapers-professional-rapid-moss-removal A aluminium scaffold of cherry picker for access. It is what is required and has to be paid for. If the customer will not pay then do not do the job.

Hi Ben. Great job. Can you share what brush you're using to soften the biofilm? All brushes I have come across are abrasive and I'm afraid will scratch the slate.

What Solution did you put on it? And can I use sodium hypochlorite (bleach) to cleaner a slate roof?

We use Bio Cleanze on roofs and do not normally us SH based products. If we were to we would use our Lightning Cleanze product. Both available here: www.benzsoftwash.com/
