Love the technique. Jobs like that really take a lot of thought to get a good result, and I picked up some handy tips!

Great video! Funny and informative. Question, did you file a slight curve in the tubing so it would fit perfectly?

Glad you enjoyed it! We bent it ever so slightly. :)

I love the technique, and great results! I have a question for you, not sure if this is going to bee seen (or even answered). But, here's a shot in the dark. Do you have a suggestion for what solder to use, while soldering stainless steel jump rings, for someone allergic to silver?
@JewelryArts3 жыл бұрын
Hmmmmm. Whenever I have soldered steel, I used black flux and silver solder. I nosed around online a bit and mechanics, etc use a 50/50 tin/lead solder but I certainly wouldn't want that against skin. Why not just use a low karat gold solder, or a white gold solder? The lower the karat, the paler the color. The color won't be a perfect match but it will definitely work. :)

@@JewelryArts Thanks, I hadn't thought of gold of any kind for that!

@@markdaviddesigns You are very welcome! It should work just as well as silver solder. :)

A vise would have made this 10x easier lol but thank you for the video, it's much appreciated

I often use an engraving ball, but showing students how a simple block of wood can still create beautiful jewelry is an important lesson. :)

Wouldn’t it be easier to set up everything on an angle and let the bale roll down onto the molten solder? Also, I just transplanted my nasturtium seedlings into a larger container-should I hold off on fertilizing until they’re better established or just go ahead and fertilize?
@JewelryArts3 жыл бұрын
We have used the angle rolling method before but the results can be quite unpredictable. If it has been working well for you, then keep with it! :)

I like to let my transplants adjust a bit before I hit them with fertilizer. :)

I love your video, thank you so much. One suggestion: please do not wear a mask it makes it harder to hear you, plus we’d love to see your beautiful smile. Thank you so much. Hugs;-)

Nice teaching thank you. I comment however, the person holding the camera and filming is terrible. It was painful to watch because of that. While you were about showing us the melted solder and the result on the bail, what we see is the soldering block… lol
