I prefer twisting the wires together (lineman's splice) before soldering the wire together. To each his own. Great tutorial!

What type of heat shrink tubing do you use? Adhesive lined? 3:1 or 2:1?
@HolidayCoro2 жыл бұрын
Just old school shrink tubing. Waterproofing is actually not that important.

Wish my solder would melt that easy - care to share what brand / product it is?

Generally lead based solders are easier to wet than non-lead based.

I'm doing a 180 pixel star this season. I have a 100 pixel node strand from HolidayCoro and two 50 pixel strands from another dealer that were given to me. What is the best way to connect then together so I have enough for the star? Thanks!
@HolidayCoro5 жыл бұрын
Typically we do not "extend" the strings into the star, we run a long range receiver but each installation is unique. Be aware that the general length is up to 125 pixels for 12v.

Soldering is always the best way!

Hello, I’m new to devices like these but I plan on making 3 rgb fixtures for my tech theatre final. Each fixture has two rgb modules that draw 120ma per foot and give off 22 lumens per module. I’m using a 12v 30 watt power supply to power it. Would it be possible to run a 10ft pigtail from my controller to the first fixture then a 5ft pigtail between the 1st and 2nd, and 2nd and 3rd fixture. Thank you

Yes, generally speaking, you can go 25ft from pixel controller to the start of the first pixel.
