Considering you run some of the best electronics, highest speed runs on KZbin...it's cool you shared the way you solder your stuff. I'll be sure to watch this again when I try to do it myself

This is my first time going to be soldering QS8 connectors on my EC5 CNHL lipos. The batteries are brand new so I need to have them a certain charged before cutting the negative and positive wire?? And also which one do I cut first just wanna make sure I don’t short anything out and any tips the video was great!! Just lmk
@KiloWattRC Жыл бұрын
It wouldn't matter what voltages you have the pack at, or which wire u cut first. Just don't cut both wires at the same time.

How does your solder stay wet looking. I just spend 4 hours trying to solder a qs10 and I pray I made enough contact. What temp, type of solder, flux, etc?
@KiloWattRC5 ай бұрын
just the max temp with this Weller 40watt station. I use Kester 60/40 solder. U have to make sure the tip you are using is sharpened clean. I use a grinding wheel to sharpen and clean it up

What's the wattage on your soldering iron? My 80watt doesn't seem to get hot enough

Is it possible to solder 4 or 6 Awg wire to it?
@KiloWattRC2 жыл бұрын
Yes 6AWG is more ideal because the cover caps fit 6AWG wiring. If u run 4AWG the cover caps won't fit u would have to alter caps or not use them

@illoko90344 ай бұрын
Been there done that… Soldering can get extremely frustrating. The larger the wire the harder it gets but the main point is to keep everything very hot. The solder will join the wire only if the wire is really hot because you heated it with the iron. If your iron isn’t hot enough (it should melt the solder REALLY fast) then it might be bad quality or you might have to send the tip. Also use solder flux that’ll help a lot.
