have you found any better methods? I have been struggling with solidification on complex models for a long time now :(

I find that you have to make the offset at zero, with no negative in front of the number. Setting a negative value can make those ridges pop up where you don’t want ‘em. The problem is, it can fatten up the body a bit too much, so you have to strike a balance where the body is thick enough, but not “bloated”.

Great! Thanks you sharing! your video is just what i need! Actually I'm working an Alfa Romeo Giulia 1962 model and this is the first time I use blender for it.

Wish I could see more videos about this problem. I built an object to scale. So to keep the scale I gave it a negative setting to solidify it. But by doing so it created some areas correctly and others seem to give it a positive setting meaning in some areas it thickened it to the inside and others to the outside. This caused huge problems with the mesh. I do have some sharp angles in the object that maybe causing it to clash on itself.

This would be a "Normals" problem. See if you can Recalculate Normals to outside or inside.

@@Leander98 it seems with some more research that I had to change my mode to 'complex' since I have more than 2 connecting faces. This gave a much better result but still have issues.

HI! isn't it so that you could export it thin into say Chitubox and there hollow it to the desired wall thickness and avoid any problems like the ones you are showing? Cheers
