great lesson... another way to consider it from a harmony perspective is. Key of A/F#m. We make the iii chord Dominant which is Phrygian mode but give it a major 3rd instead of minor 3rd.(Phrygian Dominant) We borrow a chord from F# Harmonic minor. its a V7 to i cadence... C#7 to F#m. for the D#dim just visualize it as a D7 arpeggio but the root is raised... also there is D# diminished arp hidden in the A blues scale.

Yup exactly!!! Seeing the D#7 diminished as just just D7 with a raised root was a HUGE revelation for me. Makes it so much easier I think to visualize!

I really want to learn this song. How do I go about learning these arpeggios, I mean like the specific notes. How do I know what inversions of chords to play and how to play them. Im 4 years into playing guitar and I don’t want to keep using tabs for everything. Is there a specific website or source where I can learn a certain scale, triads, or even just a chord? Sorry for the long message, I’ve just been REALLY confused how to start to play the dead stuff. Thanks again.

Love these lessons… any chance we can get tabs for version 2 of chords?
