I wish I could make a loop of you playing over the changes. You give such an easy melody to mimic. I could play along with it for hours.

Took me a while. (I'm slow) After viewing your videos a few times, the guide tones finally clicks. Play with Am -> A7, Dsus2 ->D, etc. Thank you.

Thanks for all the useful tidbits. Those guide tones can really be heard in the beginning of Rock and Roll. What I've been using way too much IMO is dropping to the flat seventh right before the chord change. A three note chromatic descent. Classic phrase. Thanks again. Subscribed.

How do you know which notes in the minor pentatonic scale are the guide tones? The guide tones are the chord tones of the IV and V chord that aren't in the minor pentatonic scale? I'm confused what is the differences between common tones VS guide tones?
@LeadGuitarWorkshop3 ай бұрын
Start w the 5 notes of the scale and match and adjust for each respective chord tone. Guide tones are a way of connecting the chord tones
