How to solve BMW E36 Idle Problem

Hi, @Autodometer I have rough idle problem, I change a broken idle control valve hose and I will change the PCV valve (sound like Shewbacca), the question is: gaskets from Victor Reinz are good as genuine ? How I can prove the intake temperature sensor still working? the computer on board said every its okay.. by the way car is an e36 1997 329i cabrio with 87k

I just changed my intake boot because it was cracked up but I still getting a little rough idle on cold starts

Oh my car had vaccum leak and right before you get to the throttle body there's that traction control plate I was missing that black gasket that goes on the front of the throttle body guessing that's why I had rough idle

hmm i guess i could have changed that to but i didnt think about it. Maybe ill pop the hood tomorrow and feel if there is a leak there. Occasionally there are idle surges sitting at a stop light.

Pause at 1:33 and you see it going into the vacuum brake booster. This hose is using the vacuum power from the intake manifold to apply a quicker stronger braking power. Notice the brake master cylinder and reservoir also attached to the vacuum brake booster.

My fix on my e36 rpm stays above 2000rpm. If I rev it the rpm remains high n slowly comes down or not at all. It’s because there is a vacuum leak on my car the CCV crankcase that plugs into the intake manifold was loose once that’s fixed car idles back to normal. My suggestion is to check all vacuum lines and locations for leak. Good luck.

@@fatherjac6228 I suggest start with the easiest by removing the IAC and clean it. Then check all vacuum lines and locations and the valve cover gasket for leaks. Good luck.

It truly amazes me how I wasn't really bothered about you saying $5 part a...to say the least remarcable number of times in a very short amount of time but while at it, why not clean the throttle body real good too? That got me fuming.
