1. I'm Israeli and I support the solution Cenk is proposing. In fact, I've supported it for decades 2. Cenk is correct in stating that the Israeli Right opposes this solution because they support settlements, and want to take more land 3. That said, Cenk is wholly glossing over the fact that this exact proposal was made to the Palestinians in 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2008. The Palestinians rejected it each and every time. I have no idea why Cenk thinks this time would be any different 4. Not only did they rejected it, but they launched violent attacks and uprisings each such time. This is why so many Israelis have moved to the Right. Because they've come to a conclusion that negotiations with and concessions to the Palestinians always end in violence 5. Special case in point: in 2005 Israel withdrew out of every inch of Gaza. Had the Palestinians transformed it into a successful proto-state (using the billions they received in aid) the pressure on Israel to do the same in the West Bank would have been overwhelming. Instead they elected Hamas, which started firing rockets at Israeli cities. And then did 7/10. 6. Hamas charter calls for the elimination of Israel and the killing of every Jew in it. They have never canceled this charter

while you are right that there should have been more effort from the palestinian side.. your revision of history is not surprising when it comes to peace deals.. Arab Peace initiative was proposed many times this century (initially 2002) with virtually all arab/muslim countries supporting it (along with the PA in the West Bank) even the US.. yes it was only Hamas that rejected it initially but certain groups within soften their stance as the Initiative was re-proposed time and time again... who didnt accept it? Israel.. who ignored it? Israel? peace is not a one direction path.. both sides need to be sincere so you trying to make it like one side derailed it is facutally false.. also.. the withdrawal from Gaza and how that mess came about is also incorrect.. giving a piece of land and effectively controlling everything from airspace to utilities to borders etc is not "withdrawal".. also.. you fail to mention (as even verified and reported in Israeli media) that hamas was actually pushed by the israeli govt to counter the PLO/Fatah.. its funny you mention the West Bank.. the West Bank has been relatively peaceful for decades now.. they do not have a charter calling for the end of israel.. what did they receive in return? mushrooming settlements and continued control.. if israel really wanted to make peace they should have propped up the West Bank as a beacon of what can be achieved if you are not hell bent on violence and stopped settlement expansion and have that area flourish freely... but it didnt and hasnt.. thus the palestinians have no example of any benefit to peace again.. mistakes and wrong have been on the palestinian side too.. but to make it out like its a one way street (as you have) is incorrect and the main reason why this mess has not resolved itself..

@@mh8826 first of all, I would be ecstatic if you were right. I would love for the Palestinian leadership (assuming there currently is one, other than Sinwar) to support a peace plan which matches Cenk's outline in this video. Unfortunately this is not the case, nor has it ever really been. The Palestinians were offered such a peace in 2000 and 2001 and Arafat walked away (and launched the Second Intifada), and again in 2008 and Abbas walked away. The Arab Peace initiative of 2002 was indeed a step in the right direction, but came too late with regard to the negotiations of 2000-2001, and didn't impact Abbas' decision in 2008. Most importantly, it effectively demanded the "Right of Return" for Palestinians, which as Cenk correctly explains, is a nonstarter for Israel. I didn't make it out as a "one way street". In fact I referred to the attitude of the Israeli Right before I even mentioned the Palestinians. That said, had the Palestinians accepted Cenk's suggestions they would have had a state long ago. They didn't and so they don't. And now, following 7/10, it seems further away than ever.

No unfortunately cenk is not even close. This idea that Fatah can simply make a deal without Hamas is ludicrous. Like what the hell is he smoking. Hamas is not going anywhere. His statement about Hamas calling them terrorists shows this guy is a moron. Hamas have won so much popularity amongst the Palestinians both in Gaza and the West Bank. Think about it, fatah for the last 25 years, how many Palestinians have they negotiated with Israel for release? None. Hamas have time and again. Fatah are corrupt they don’t give a shit and the gazans will probably resort to fighting them if they attempt a takeover. Finally, he said Hamas has no leverage. Again, he’s wrong and it seems as though he’s not watching the conflict closely enough. At this current moment it would appear as though Hamas don’t have leverage but they do. To understand this we have to look at the broader picture. So you may ask , “what is Hamas’s leverage? Their leverage is showcased in their ability to avoid negotiations. Both make too make concessions. Keep their original demands in take. Again we must look at the entire picture. Israel are currently being destroyed both from the outside and inside. They are in such political, economic, and military turmoil. Their prime minister is at odds with his military head. He won’t accept any ceasefire, ontop of that he hasn’t been successful in his operation. He failed at every objective, kills his own captives whether on purpose or accident it’s the same. And worst of all his people are turning on him because they believe he’s prolonging this war to stay out of jail. Sonreally israel don’t have much leverage. Because we haven’t even spoken of hezbullah and the Houthis and the Iraqi and Syrian resistance. Hezbullah is not some scrub man. They are Israel’s biggest threat more than Iran. They also beat Israel in wars twice. They have the formula. And part of their war effort is to continue until the gazans achieve what they have shed blood for. And hezbullah hits Israel everyday it’s just our media doesn’t show you. I used to kinda like cenk. But he’s simply wrong here

Israel never broke a peace deal with arab countries. There was never a final peace deal with Palestinians. The deals in the 90's were stages that would lead to eventual peace agreement and end of conflict. But that never happened because of the Palestinians and their demand for the "right of return", which was the last unsolved issue between the sides. Palestinians wanted to bring millions of arabs into Jewish population, which would cause huge bloodshed. And after Israel refused, Palestinians broke the deal and opened a second intifada with suicide bombers and terror attacks on Israeli citizens, and all peace talks stopped since then. So there was no final agreement and a peace deal. It was only peace talks. The real peace deals with arab countries still exist.

Errr, sorry Cenk, but...fat whiff on this one. Israel already left Gaza in 2005, Gaza elected Hamas in 2006, and Hamas murdered Fatah in Gaza. Gaza got plenty of foreign aid to demonstrate that they could build a functional state (yes, there was an Israeli blockade on weapons, but a blockade and money is preferable to getting the snot bombed out of you), and they built a terror base. Hamas is not a rational negotiator. As for Fatah, well, they still have pay for slay, and their populace still despises the Israelis. Are the settlements a point of contention? Sure. But the West Bank populace in general hasn't exactly done themselves any favors either with their opinions, ideas, statements, pay for slay, etc. And FURTHERMORE, didn't UN article 80 establish that all the land west of the Jordan belong to Israel? So by *that*, then all the "Palestinians", which are simply remnants of Egyptians and Jordanians that tried to massacre the Israelis back in 1967 that those nations didn't want to take back, are the ACTUAL occupiers/squatters of the land, and indeed SHOULD be dispersed. Or would they rather Israel just bomb them to dust?

Wait, so what is in this deal about the most important thing to Israel - security? How will this deal guarantee that Jews will not be slaughtered there, as they have been for the last 200 years, from massacres of indigenous jewish communities (that have been living there for 2k years continuously, like the community in Hebron) up to today, when another truck full of explosives was found standing near a bunch of school buses. There is one thing Israel cares most: safety of it's citizens. Yesterday, 2 million israelis went out across the whole country, protesting to get the hostages back as soon as possible. This is the whole point of current war, to get them back, and the whole point of future policy: to never let that happen again.

Gaza became an open-air prison. Israel controlled who could enter or exit Gaza, controlled any and all goods (including food and medical supplies) that went into Gaza, would not allow Gazans to have an airport or harbour, controlled water, electricity and Internet connection, and regularly bombed the place. Americans fought a war to liberate themselves from the British government, and Americans had far more freedom, safety and opportunities than the Gazans had and have. Why do Americans deny Gazans true independence and opportunities while boasting endlessly about opportunities in their own country and celebrate their war of independence?

I love it how people who don't live here and don't even have 1 week long memory capacity wanna give us the magic solution for this conflict. Israel already did serious and stratigically devastating compromises towards "peace" in the Oslo Accords, when our insane leaders at the time brought the PLO leadership from exile to Judea and Samaria and Gaza, armed them and charged them with supressing terrorism, IDF left the cities of the West Bank and Gaza, and what we got was daily suicide bombing in public areas. The Oslo Accords also paved the way to the Disengagement from Gaza which result in rockets every year and the 7th of October. The fact is that the "Palestinians" (a Pan-Arabist/Islamist invention to fight Jewish nationalism, there was never such a people or ethnic entity) sole identity is in opposition to us, and their only purpose is to struggle to wipe us off the map. 67' was never the issue, and a "Palestinian" state in the "occupied" territories is just a springboard to advance towards the destruction of Israel. Also, I find it funny that a Turk has a problem with "occupation". Give Anatolia back to the Greeks

@aurochs1
@aurochs1 9 күн бұрын
@@playafly131 Hi, "Palestinians" are Arab immigrants from Egypt, Arabia etc. Third most common "Palestinian" surname is Al-Masri which means "Egyptian", likewise they have other such surnames that indicate where they arrived from. There is not this fantasy of a native Palestinian population that has been living here for hundreds of years. And so there is no reason to have another Arab state when they have over 20 of them. Arabs already massacred Jews before 1947 and the fact that they got kicked out because shouting "slaughter the Jews" and going out to do that didn't work out for them, is their problem. The Arabs who remained in the 48 borders enjoy full rights and even affirmative action that helps them get to well-paying jobs in society. What to do with Gaza and the West Bank Arabs, idk what to tell you, all I know is the giving up territory means they're with AK47s in near by Israeli neighborhoods soon after, or showering them with rockets. You can check what Zuheir Mohsen said about the invention of the Palestinian identity as a tool to combat Zionism, you can also see this video where a Hamas spokesman admitted everything I'm arguing in an interview to Egyptian TV: kzbin.infoztV1lH4hvBY?si=oNRDMHgxwMZuLfb4

Cenk does not know the recent history or basic facts. For decades, Israel refused to engage with the PLO or Palestinian nationalism. To their credit, the Israelis recognized that a political settlement was necessary, engaged with the Oslo peace process, and brought their former enemies, the PLO, to the West Bank and Gaza. Prime Minister Rabin lost his life for these efforts. In 2000, a peace offer was pretty much agreed by the Barak government in Israel which would have allocated about 95% of the West Bank to a Palestinian state, with land swaps for the 5%, and all of Gaza, with a formular for sharing Jerusalem. To disrupt this process, Hamas and others launched the Second Intifada, with suicide bombings targeting buses, cafes, restaurants, etc. in Israel which killed over one thousand civilians. The Israeli electorate brought in Ariel Sharon to restore security, and his government built the walls and other security infrastructure in the West Bank. Sharon also ended the Israeli military presence in Gaza and pulled out Israeli settlers, but PLO rule was so inept and corrupt that they were overthrown in Gaza through a military coup by Hamas, which went on to build out its terror infrastructure. Netanyahu over the years has allowed funding to flow to Hamas as part of a divide and rule strategy, playing the PLO/Fatah off against Hamas, which allowed Hamas to consolidate its rule in Gaza. A political settlement is possible, with a modified version of the 2 state formula, but Hamas needs to be first defeated militarily. They will never allow a political settlement with Israel, only tactical pauses while they build up capability for further violence.

Sorry, Lex. So far, the ONLY person who I find undeserving of trust is Cenk. He's a sham artist (and a bad one at that).

For a long lasting peace, there needs to be a modicum of justice. Cenk proposal does not guarantee the requirements for a long term peace. It will last as long as the balance of power is in the favor of Israel. There need to be either 2 states solutions along the 1967 border and a graduated rights of return of Palestinians (20-50k per year) or a one states solution where all are equal.

Yeah peace in the Middle East is just a tweet away, maybe an email perhaps a phone call but main point is that’s easy. How stupid is this guy? And he just forgot about Iran?

What I come to understand is all information starts with ‘What’s the source’? Then ask what’s the agenda of who is sharing. That will dictate the narrative from there.

The point is that he has only ever worked for his dad and himself, and businesses of his have been bankrupt six times. Many business people wouldn't touch Trump solely because of his erratic behaviour. It doesn't matter how successful he might be, he would be a massive headache for any employer.

There's absolutely NOTHING successful about Trump and his horrific track record in business. After 40 years of failures he made it big portraying a phony successful person and then capitalized on the TV show and his newly built fame. No different than Kim K, or Kanye.
