Preparing this famous laotian dish will take more time than making one of famous Laotian Tum Mak Hoong(Papaya) and Tum Mak Thang (Cucumber) for sure cause bamboo needs to be cooked with yanang leaes first. Nice simple recipe btw. Which one would u prefer, other version with thixk texture or this one like similar to laap version???? Just noticed you have two version of soop nor mai. Thats why.

Yanang leaves extract, you can get it at asian markets. It comes in cans and in frozen form. Ebay and Amazon sells it too, but so pricey.
