Guys don’t ever overspend on sound dampening. It’s all the same butyl rubber unless it has a layer of foam for further noise reduction. I’ve used many brands and I’d say don’t spend more than $2 per square foot. Just my piece of the pie tho.

Can you recommend a good brand? Thanks I recently became aware of Sound Shield, it has a layer of butyl, foil, and closed cell foam in its original variant.

I've always used dynamat extreme for all my audio installations. Worded great for me back in the day. 😁

Dynamats days are limited. They were once the gold standard, but they no longer have a product with a competitive edge. I get it if you want to have that “peace of mind”, but just know it’s no better than many of these other options that are half the price.

The full size pickups are easy, what is harder is the smaller cars because the window does come down immediately behind the speaker inside the door. I need to keep looking for this install.

auto manufacturers can use something like rv insulation for light weight sound treatment, I don't think they do it for weight, I think it's just away to cut cost just like every other company on this planet

Hi there, I have a question about a video you made a while back. I’ve commented on that video and haven’t gotten a response so I thought I’d give it a shot here. My question is about an unresponsive planet audio radio that I am trying to install. I am installing a planet audio radio. I have all the harnesses plugged in and the unit is unresponsive when I have the car electronics on. I checked and the ground and constant have power, however, the accessory doesn’t. I wired the accessory line and still no power. Does anyone know what else I could do?

I just do my 2019 gmc sierra in white color the same as the one in this video or probably Chevy truck it’s the same, i use a different brand but same process whit fast rings I change all the 4 speaker whit the tweeter in the front and they sound grate, my truck it’s the non bose audio, in the front I put the kenwood 7” components and in the back I put the jl audio c1 coaxial speaker I am just waiting to add some amps and bass, I already have a sundown audio sa-8 v2 subs, I need to order the under seat box
