Yup! You should try it by your self! it took me almost 2 years by research! since i don't have any background on being a horticulture and a conflict schedule from my work. it took me that long! And now that i accumulated all the knowledge from my research i am sharing it to the world! to those guys who has the same hobby just like me! And for those guys who would like to take their orchids experience to the next level! its fun and enjoyable experience!

Awesome video. I like it. Small question though --- about the glove box. Those two holes for your hand are exposed to the outside environment, right? So what is the purpose of the glove box in this case? Just asking only! I'm interested to try this out. [Edit -- ok! Just noticed an earlier message that indicates that the open system box won't eliminate contamination, but at least significantly reduces it - in other words, some success is better than no success. Looks promising.]

Thank you so much for your long, easy, detailed videos! I'm sure that everyone appreciates your precious efforts. However, not filming an update on each experiment you share with us, is really annoying and makes the videos/experiments UNVIABLE... Please make sure to update us on your results whether they were a success or a failure, many viewers will highly appreciate it, thank you!

Very helpful video thankyou, if the seeds have a 50% survival rate then this is a much easier method than working between bleached towels. Where are you storing the seeds after they have been flasked? What is the regulated temperature? Thanks again :)

Awesome. Thank you for this clear explanation. This is really great. Thank you again. Improvising is very good! I will also experiment for creation of black agar gel. Also, what is the next step? I guess the little seeds will grow for a few weeks or months?? Then you transfer them or move them?? When will they need water and fresh air?

You may want to give your seed pods longer grow time on the plant. The seeds were really white. They should be really yellow, like an egg yoke.

I have a seed pod that is on my phalaenopsis and it is just about ready to come off but I'm not ready can I store it and for how long?
@mymixvideosphilippines50576 жыл бұрын
Thanks for WATCHING! Yes of course! You can store it! But remember to store only dry pod that already split open. And do not store green pod. Just wait for the seed pods to gets dry by its own. Before storing it on an envelope. Never store it in a plastic container as it needs air. I'm not quite sure for how long you can store it but I think it will still be useful for about 6 months or more. My theory is that in the wild the seed pods are still attached to the spike until it split open and spread the seeds through wind. And I'm sure it'll take a long period of time before the spike or seed pod fell of. And for sure you will not take a year before you sow the seeds. On my method I use green pod culture which is much more easier to do than dry pod culture. I suggest you should sow the seeds while they are still green but make sure that they are matured. Because once the pod split open you will use different kind of technique to sterilized the seeds which I think it is a lot more complicated.

How do these flowers grow without bleach and sterilization in nature?
@kellykaspar36274 жыл бұрын
They have a symbiotic relationship with fungi in their native environment that provide the perfect conditions to grow. Since we can’t recreate that, seeds are grown in a lab environment with the nutrient agar and sterile conditions. Hope this helps!

So what's the point of the sterile containment area if you are wearing no gloves and there is much air coming from those holes
@mymixvideosphilippines50576 жыл бұрын
The point is to minimize the contamination. Doing this kind of thing in open air will result in 100% contamination in all of the flask. But since I'm using a homemade glove box the contamination had reduced to only less than 10%. Wearing no gloves is totally fine with me because I know that my hands and the glove box are sterilized with alcohol many times before I start. And I prefer to work with out gloves so I can work comfortably. And if your thinking that there is much air coming from the hole, then your wrong. I had see a lot of people doing these in their homemade glove box with a hole much more bigger than mine and still they've got successful result. Having a 100% no contamination is hard to achieve but reducing the contamination is possible.

@mymixvideosphilippines50576 жыл бұрын
Hello Minerva! At mero pang kulang.

Why does this dude have around 20 jars of cheez wiz
@matteosiboni11395 жыл бұрын
I think that all of this sterelising is unuseful when out of the box, u should think abuot doing the sterelizations with bleach solution inside the box, this will also reduce the amount of work. Also some long sleeve latex gloves will be very usefull in reducing hand contaminants. I did successfully plant some orchids at home myself, But i had A LOT of trouble when reflasking them after 3 months... Because they can't stay in the jars more than that. I will thry with a box next time and not under the extractor hood.
