Time codes:
00:00 Assimilation
Assimilation is when two sounds combined produce a new sound.
For example:
Good girl = goog girl
Good boy = goob boy
05:39 Elision
Elision is when one sound is substituted for another sound or completely disappears from a word.
For example:
She is coming next̶ week!
That was the worst̶̶ job I ever had!
06:59 Open your mouth
Depending on your first language, you may not need to open your mouth as wide as you do in English. While in English, in order to pronounce some sound correctly, it’s necessary to open your mouth quite wide, because otherwise, you’ll get a completely different word.
08:47 Present Perfect VS Past Simple
In spoken American English people tend to use Past Simple whereas in British English people would use Present Perfect. It doesn’t mean that if you want to speak American English, you don’t need to learn perfect tenses. You have to.
09:50 Learn English with my workbook
10:32 Exaggerate
Americans really like exaggerating. So, don’t feel shy to use superlatives in your daily speech if you want to sound like a native.

Yeah the “t” sound really slows you down unless it’s the at the end of the word. Your tongue winds up in an awkward position and you have to kind of “reset it” to keep talking. If your catching my drift. Also the sound “de” is much smoother to say then “te” so it keeps you talking at a consistent rhythm.

As a native speaker from America I can understand how someone would think we say "goob boy" or "goog girl", but I think a lot easier way to look at it is "goo' boy" or "goo' girl". Also no one would think you were being too formal by actually pronouncing the words the way they were intended to be pronounced lol. I personally do not know anyone who replaces the n for an m. I don't think anyone says hambag, saim paul, cam buy etc. She might just be confusing the n and m sounds. Cutting out the letter "t" is definitely a thing we do on the other hand, but not for all words.
@theflamingamer4179

Ok but say the phrase 'can buy' as if you were naturally saying it in a sentence and you will end up making the 'm' sound.

Почему как только я подумала, что вы слишком позитивная и радостная, чтобы быть русской, вы заговорили про улыбающихся американцев и привыкших не выражать свои эмоции русских.... Вы замечательная 😭😭😭 Серия этих видео буквально перевернула моё сознание с ног на голову, потому что я не понимала, какого чёрта люди НИКОГДА не говорят так, как нас учили в школе... теперь.... я понимаю.... С удовольствием буду следить за вашим каналом! ❤

I really wanted to have an American accent but I'm scared as my friends or classmates are talking in a Filipino accent and it's gonna be weird to be the only one who has a different accent, so is that okay?
