I like your methodology. Each video embraces a certain topic. As a former teacher of foreign languages, I would recommend, when possible, to use the same words and word combinations in different topics. You already do this. Just wanted to point out. Very good!

Spanish is easy with your channel. The main thing is all characters speaks slowly, so it's easy to understand. One thing, it will be the more easy if in the video there is Spanish text also because with listening, reading will be more helpful. Thanku Best of luck...

There are Spanish subtitles on all our videos, and English and Spanish on all the seasons of Buena Gente. We made a video in basic Spanish to show how to turn the subtitles on: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pF6YameQqc-eatk These are the basics - click on cc to activate the subtitles and then click on settings (the gear icon at the bottom right) and choose the language. You can also open a transcript if that would be helpful. To open the transcript, go to the row below the title and click on the three horizontal dots ... (next to "save", at the far right). There is an option there to open the transcript and it opens on the upper right sidebar. Let us know if you any questions!

Me encanta esta película. I love this movie. Pero no puedo entender porque es tan largo. But i can't understand why it is so long. i think your short independent section should have been in a playlist. I speak English nativly and don't like to do a lot of writing in Spanish. I didn't like to write things wrong. Aunque me encanta escribir español. Even though i love to write Spanish. Without correction i feel it could hurt my learning objectives. I also love your hat a lot. Yo también me encanta mucho tu sombrero. Please forgive if i messed up my Spanish.

¡Muchas gracias por tu comentario! Sí, también los puedes ver un playlist aquí: kzbin.info/aero/PLHWAe4rFdBzy6FMO-3YQ6DquYX6eshU45. In terms of writing without correction, we understand that learners have the impression that error correction helps them learn. However, although it is counterintuitive, all studies show that error correction doesn't contribute to language acquisition. The key is exposure and practice. Imagine trying to learn to play the piano, and every time you hit a wrong note there was someone there to say "No. Not that. Do it this way." At time point you would say, "Just give me time to practice. " Language works in a similar way. Our advice is to read and listen all you can for exposure. Practice speaking and writing, and embrace jumping in and making mistakes. You express yourself very well! Be proud of your language skills and have fun with Spanish. 😊

Great video as usual SP! Hope you had a wonderful new year. I was wondering if there social rules still apply when meeting someone online for the first time?
@SpanishPlayground
@SpanishPlayground 2 жыл бұрын
That's a great question. In general, yes social rules apply to electronic interactions. However, it depends on the kind of communication. For example, if you're writing an email, you would use usted with someone you didn't know, but if you were messaging someone on social media in a casual conversation, you could use tú. It's hard to be specific without knowing the situation, but it's always a good idea to follow the lead of the other person. 😊

The quality of these lessons goes through the roof! Thanks so much!! May I ask what does it mean: "Que ya quede"? It's at 13:42
@SpanishPlayground
@SpanishPlayground 2 жыл бұрын
Good question! It's from the verb "quedar", an indirect command - que ya quede bien el carro. In English it would be something like "Let's get it fixed this time." Quedar in this context means "to turn out" or "come out". We chose"fixed" as a translation because of the context here (having the car repaired) - literally it would mean "let it turn out well" Hope that helps!
@josephstein153
@josephstein153 2 жыл бұрын
In accelerated Spanish podcast i like to listen to; Quedar in some cases translate to "end up with". Looking at the translation that Spanish playground put bellow and what i heard from accelerated Spanish podcast. I would say that i good translation to that ,would probably be "let's end up with a good car already" Que is often used in prase in wear you want to put emphasis on the subject. "Ya" is often used to indicate something has changed in time. It is often translated to "already" but it not the only way it can be translated. It could also be "now" ,"already" "yet" and even "still" i think all of these words would work well with this example. I don't speak Spanish natively please keep that in mind but i found this to be quiet amusing when I saw this sentence and I thought you might want to know.

@SpanishPlayground
@SpanishPlayground 2 жыл бұрын
Buena pregunta! "Con permiso" y "perdón" se usan en situaciones diferentes. Se dice "con permiso" si se va a pasar adelante de alguien o si se va a dejar un grupo de personas. Se dice "perdón" si se golpea con alguien sin querer.
