Yes, Tunisian! While most people understand and speak Arabic in Tunisia, it's not the language of the home/street. Tounsi is. I advocate that this Tunisian language, while Arabic in form, is actually a creole. A mixture of many languages and unique words passed down through the centuries.

I am of Tunisian descent, but unfortunately, I cannot speak Arabic. Most of the online Arabic courses I could find only teach standard Arabic, which is only spoken in certain Arab countries. However, thanks to your video, I may finally be able to communicate better with my relatives. This means a lot to me. Thank you for your tutorial it was very helpful 😊

have you tried easy arabic? They have many dialects among which tunisian. It's the same channel but each of their videos is one different dialect. Although learning arabic in general will help build a basis for learning each dialect

algerian is a different dialect. Lots of similarities but the first contact between a tunisian and an algerian is often confusing in terms of the words used, like french and canadian french or british english and australian. the tunisian word for pumpkin means bottle in algerian for example.

I'm currently working on a standard alphabet to use it writing tunisian down, i'm making it pretty simple and logical when it comes to conjugating verbs. You could see my wikipedia edit in "Tunisian Arabic" article, the last paragraph in "vocabulary". I'd love to share you what i've come up with when i finish it if you want :)

I think learning standard Arabic first, will make learning the Tunisian dialect easier. Since the Tunisian grammar logic is descendent from the standard Arabic, with some simplifications. Learning Arabic will be beneficial for you as well, as you will be understood by Tunisian if you speak standard Arabic as well as it will make you understands all formal things like, speeches, news, books, etc. After learning standard Arabic, the Tunisian dialect will come automatically just by communicating with Tunisians. It might be a longer path for the sake of learning Tunisian, but you will also gain knowledge of its foundations as well as the knowledge of standard Arabic that it will enable you to understand formal stuff.
