This also depends on what shifter you have. You are going to miss a lot of shifts if you do this with a stock shifter or, you are going to over extend the shifter because you put too much muscle into the shift. A good shifter makes a ton of difference.

That's where the pro 5.0 tower shifter comes to play.
@Todd.T Жыл бұрын
@@Oemford91 That was the weapon of my choice. I broke a Hurst aluminum on the 1-2 when that thing was popular. Put the Pro 5.0 power tower in and never broke another shifter again. Adjust the stops and slam away. I powershifted every race. Didn't break a thing. It took me a while, but eventually I learned to power shift my 1993 Taurus SHO which makes a big difference when you are racing Mustangs. Billy Glidden powershifted an SHO to 14.7. Most people with Mustangs could afford them, but not drive them properly, so I had a lot of fun with them in the SHO.

@79beans3472 жыл бұрын
@@rodneygodin7773 my headers are wrapped but that's not really the problem, the primaries run directly in front of the mounting hole and the steel collar sticks straight out so its not even remotely close to going in unless I bend the steel collar at a 90° angle which would bind up the cable, it's on a 79 pinto and that is about the only longtube headers made for it and I think that they were really made for a automatic , I know a few others who had to do the same thing that I did. I just wish I could use the cable setup because it is much easier and less prone to go bad
