Hi! This video is great! In it you mention the previous instruction with the high frequency word. Do you have a video demonstrating that instruction? Or could you make one? Showing how you would introduce the word to the student. Thank you!

My level of familiarity is a 1. I’m homeschooling my 6 year old and we are struggling with word recognition. This video was very helpful and I plan on checking out the worksheets you recommended. My question is, how many new words should we focus on each day and should I continue with a small number of words until my child is fluent with them before moving on? Thanks!

Hi Karen! Great question. I would suggest about 2-3 words per week (and spend about 5-10 minutes per day on it). You should also spiral review past words too to make sure the student is retaining those words. For instance, if you learn 2 new words during week 1, make sure you still review those at some point during week 2.

How do you teach kids words like “look” where is neither long or short vowel? Is this a gliding word and where’s this video? I love your channel and I’m not a teacher just very interested.

My daughter is struggling with reading in kindergarten and her school requires an 85% score on her mastery tests to pass so I'm desperately trying to figure out how to help her. I personally don't remember how I learned to read so I'm eager to learn so I can teach her. ♥️
