Hi there, do you know how you got the S17 map? I first had the one from a pokedaxi video about how to create a pokestop but that one doesnt seem to work anymore. I have wanted to use one to make sure most of my submission will actually become a pokestop or gym.

It does depend on where you are how useful an upgrade will be. Earlier this year I was on a cruise, and got off at a Caribbean cruise port that only had one pokestop. I'll likely never be back there again, but I like to be helpful, and the port, which was pretty new, had all sorts of eligible POIs: maps, statues, murals, fountains. I quickly dashed off a bunch of nominations (pro tip: wait to upload them later, then you don't have to worry about doing a perfect title and description right away; I go home or in this case to my cabin, upload them, go to Wayfarer, immediately put the nominations on "hold", and fine tune them at my leisure). Three were approved by the next day: AI, obviously. Three just sat there. I used an upgrade on one of them a month later. It still took months for it to get into and go through voting because clearly not a lot of people vote on that island. (It was eventually given a bogus rejection as being on private property--it was a mural on a public bathroom building in a cruise port!--I appealed, and when the appeal went through, by then, it was a duplicate! All those months, even with the upgrade, and someone else had cruised through, nominated it, and gotten the AI thumbs up in the meantime.) Still, it would probably still be waiting to go into voting half a year later if I hadn't used the upgrade.

As for local small businesses, are they places "people can gather"? Think restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, game stores. Don't think, I dunno, hardware stores, laundries, pharmacies. Murals and historical plaques should be slam dunks though.

Something you didn’t mention which is one of the biggest keys to a stop getting accepted/denied is its place on the cell grid. If there’s already a stop in a T17 it usually won’t get accepted and only 3 gyms are allowed per T14! It’s best when submitting pokestops to try and do it on the corner of a T 17, that way also it has a higher chance of becoming a gym. Another point you forgot to mention is the pokestop with the most “interactive points” becomes the gym. So the most pics taken and uploaded, likes, etc.

The place on the grid doesn't have anything to do with whether it gets accepted as a wayspot, just whether it'll appear in Pokemon Go if it does. It's still a good thing to note. I recently submitted a karate studio with a sign that hung over the sidewalk. If I'd taken the photo and made the pin from the west side of the sign, it would have shared a cell with an existing pokestop and not appeared in our game. I took the picture from the east side of the sign, it was just over the cell line, et voila. But it still would have been accepted as a *wayspot* if I'd pinned it from the west.

Yeah I’ve gotten a good amount nominated in my area but there’s a few that just continuously get denied the one that pisses me off the most is a memorial bench dedicated to my great grandmother (she was 99 and passed just under a year ago). Thank you so much for making this video. Just last week I uploaded some info boards to get some pokestops. I used an upgrade and its still in queue, others got accepted without an upgrade but aren’t in the game and a week past. They show on the wayfarer map tho, so i assume they are in a different niantic game? 😕 I don’t understand it, hopefully i can do better with the help of this video

There's something called cells. Niantic uses a world map which is divided in those cells. In pokemon go, if there are two spots in the same cell, only one will appear in game. That's what seems to have happened to you. You should've studied it more before nomitating bruh. Btw, you can submit a request to change the spot location for it to be in an empty cell

I can give you a top tip to sub stops. I usually sub about 30 stops at a time and I feel it flags my account with the bot to get insta approved the next day. It has happened to me atleast 10 times. Had over 140 stops approved in the last 6 months

This happens to me a lot. I go on hikes and the trails have markers, signs, or mile markers every 100 yards or so. A 2.5 mile hike basically wipes out all of my nominations.

the adjust the pokestop position is abit of a double edged sword as the reviewer might mean well but they didnt consider that some nominators studied the s2 cells well enough to decide where to put some waypoint positions at because that is the deciding factor whether a rural place can have 1 stop and a gym or just 1 stop because the reviewer adjusted the location tag to be near the existing one in a similar cell....resulting in the nominee putting effort to take all those pics..plan the wayspot location to get no new stop in the area. Just 2 cents from a rural player here that managed to raise dozens of stops in my area but some didnt get the cut because reviewers adjusted it from the location i put it at.

Remember to make sure that if you're nominating your station, the location doesn't look to block the emergency drive in any way. That is, quite rightly, against the rules. (Imagine there's a four-alarm fire and a dozen players are blocking your driveway doing a raid!)

@@zammarelli it’s likely never going to be a stop. They were deemed to be obstructing emergency services a couple years ago. So anything that is near a fire station is not supposed to be approved. Make sure to check the AMA’s on the Niantic wayfarer boards

Personally I would rather have a bot approve or reject my nominations. Why? Stupid people have typically been the problem. Many don't take the time to know what really qualifies as POI or you get people who are super super strict. But the worst is the agreement badge. This badge will progress if people agree with your ruling. As a result, people will speed run the process and reject all nominations to get the badge quickly instead of taking the time to review fairly. Also, a bot is faster. So if it gets rejected quickly you know what to change, if you want to appeal or just resubmit altogether.

I have an idea why not have a discord to categorize things and descriptions that work so we can copy and paste then tweak/change the description of our submissions for quicker pokestops?

Most likely, enough stops were removed in the larger cell (due to no longer existing or otherwise not meeting criteria) that it can't support as many gyms (up to three, depending on how many pokestops are in it) as there were before, and yours was the one that was demoted.

I think the rating system absolutely sucks. I have reviewed almost 600 nomination and I've been stuck on "fair" for well over a year (I honestly cant remember how long it's been at this point). My badge in game for agreements has been stuck at 261 since the beginning and everything I see online says that my rating will not change until the stops I reviewed go through but its been SO LONG this seems ridiculous! The only reason I want to review stops is to get that badge up higher but it refuses to update because the my rating has been stuck for God knows how long at this point.

ya it takes long as you don't get any of your reviews towards you agreements until they get resolved - you could review 10000 spots but if thier fate is not decided it won't go towards your badge

Not good enough on giving away 30 free Pokeballs when you activate daily incense at the same time 0 to total of 29 any kinds of Pokeballs excluding Master Ball in players storage. In the situation, players have total of 30 any types of Pokeball, the players won't receive extra Pokeball. Then player activate daily incense, after some time for example no pokeball left but daily incense countdown at 5.00, some Pokeball used being missed and Pokemon broke out from Pokeball will result not enough Pokeball then no extra Pokeball give away. This is what not still good enough. Niantic should alter the current system at least giving away some Pokeballs by means of remaining daily incense countdown. For example above suggested to giving at least 10 Pokeballs to the players.

Im Rural i got one pokestop accepted, has to be the worst pokestop in history. It fills the criteria its a old gymnastics hall where you can go and play ball with others. But reason its bad its not a single pokemon spawn there 🤣

There might be some tag in other maps that prevent spawns.

@@paulal107 The wierd thing is that there are like 10 houses or some around, but my house has like 10 Pokemon spawns its like 1km away and i got no neighbours. I dont get how that thingy works

@@omgwerockhard Phone activity affects spawns too. But for no spawns, the OSM layer is probably still in consttuction.

@@paulal107 ok the next pokestop to that one is 2km away. Does it help to go there often to get more activity or does it need constant sources

@@omgwerockhard The research about phone activity is more than 5 y.o. so idk if they still update that data. What you can do is check OSM for tags (construction, military base, etc.) and update if applicable.
