What a great woman to honor, Harriet Tubman, she will watch over your community. May your community be forever blessed for welcoming my ancestors!

Thank you very much! Harriet Tubman played a huge role with shaping American history.

The AME Zion Church named a church in her honor Harriet Tubman Memorial , which is located in Auburn. She was very active in the AME Zion faith.

I grew up in Auburn in the 40's and 50's and 60's. All the beautiful buildings were torn down in the 1970's to build that stupid freeway.

Nice! Auburn looks very beautiful! I'm excited for what freeway vid you have in store! Happy Memorial Day!

Being Auburn-born, I can say that it's a nice place to visit, but not to live. At least, not if you're not retired and/or significantly wealthy. I couldn't leave it fast enough once I graduated high school.

That's fair. I know my grandfather was born in Auburn, but he and his family moved later to Syracuse while he was growing up. I had a great time visiting Auburn, but I have no idea about the living situation there.

So you ate at Prison City pub but didn't even go past the actual prison? I don't get it!
@scottman8959 ай бұрын
That's true. To be fair though, I'm not sure if seeing a prison (except for a former one like Alcatraz for example) would be too exciting.
@ajuma559 ай бұрын
@@scottman895 well, you don't often see a maximum security prison just 2 blocks from downtown. It was also the prison where the electric chair was used for the first time, and Thomas Osborne came up with the "Auburn Method" of prisoner control that was taken up by prisons all over the country. Fascinating stuff!
@scottman8959 ай бұрын
@@ajuma55 That's pretty cool! I was just in Huntsville, Texas a couple weeks ago which is home to many prisons. I got to visit the prison museum there, and I could see a prison off in the distance from the museum.

Why would you want to? I grew up in Auburn and I found it a hugely depressing place.
