Well said... I have seen people who are obsessed with their own birthdays are actually pressurising other people to wish them in a certain way i.e. wish at mid night , put insta what's app statuses , put stories, a compulsion to send a video wishes. It's just overrated and overhyped.

Exactly, the same thing i was telling my friends that you can literally celebrate new year at any chosen date of yours. It's just that Gregorian calendar year changes and because most people celebrate it that's why we feel pressured to celebrate it too.

Call me old-fashioned. I prefer going to bed early on New Year eve and wake on Jan 1 at the crack of dawn. However several times my sleep has been disturbed by the sounds of fireworks, noise of parties and irritable phone calls.
