Hi mike hope doing ok ! , interesting lesson mike ..never seen this before ..I use the Phrygian dominant especially playing over standards like autumn leaves ...but this opens up a bit of variety with comping and subs also ..will try this by putting it again with autumn leaves ..with the flat five subs .thanks mike ..keep going !! Hello Johnny, Yes, it's a very useful tool to have in our musical toolbox. I'm just checking, Did you receive my email with the PDF's? Thanks. Mike

Thanks. I'll come back to watch this, after I've gotten a strong hold on the phrygian scale itself.

You're welcome! Take your time with the Phrygian scale-it's worth mastering before diving deeper.

Hello Boza, I'm very pleased to learn that you are enjoying the lessons my intention is to present information that will empower the musician to go one step beyond imitation and be able to play anything that you want ... someone else's music, your own music, and everything in between. Thank you for this Mike. This is just brilliant ! I tried playing scales and arpeggios with the examples and the colours are just out of this world. 😁

Thank you so much for this! I have been racking my brain trying to understand the contrast between G and Cm used toward the end of the last video "ULTIMATE Jazz Guitar Scale Mastery!". I think I understand what you mean by contrasting now. I expected it to be built from the tritone and just didn't get it before.

My Uncle use to tell me same "Old Wives Tale" about Bread Crust. As you can probably tell from my profile picture my Uncle was a very funny guy.

This is beautiful... Is this "trick" a stand alone thing? Or can you use/superimpose it over normal changes?

Thanks for your question, you can use this method to find contrasting chords to any chord progression and you can also mix chords from the original progression with the new contrasting chords. It can be a handy tool when you are looking for a particular sound, you will have several options that are no that obvious using conventional methods. All the very best. Mike

Hey Mike. I would like to buy a guitar. But It’s quite hard to pick one. I’m thinking in the range of an Ibanez AF2000 which is the one I want to get

Hello Johan, thanks for your comment, I'm not familiar with the Ibanez AF2000 ... I've just had a look and it looks like a fine guitar. Ibanez do make excellent instruments, my favorite guitar is an Ibanez. Good luck with your guitar playing (and buying). All the very best Mike
