When you crimp. Hold the pressure for a few seconds to strengthen the crimp. It bites harder. The action of squeeze and release gives loose crimps that fail later. Remember. Crimp pressure and hold for 2 seconds then release. Smartest decision you ever made. And hold the solder joint fully still for 30 seconds or the solder will fracture while cooling if being wiggled.

Thanks for the video. Clearly I found your videos previously, but wandered away. This was very clear and educational. Now I am seriously embarased with my electrical connections. I have used the 5th and top ranking technique a couple of times but have not yet got it to work. Mind you, I did use a heat gun, not a blow torch. I had gotten the kit from Ebay, but typical Chinglish and instructions were not very helpful. I kept the kit as, at the back of my mind, I had suspicions that the heat gun may not have been ideal. Do you think I may have been OK had I used it? When I get home I am going to test this out again.

Version 5 - the "easiest" is also the poorest electrical connection :-( The 'solder' in them is low temp and guarantees a "cold" joint ... ugh...

Why do you need to wear rubber gloves?
@VideoShowMeHow4 жыл бұрын
When I first started doing these vids they were on all more mechanical so when filming and using gloves meant I could pull them off and have clean hands to move/adjust the camera gear the 12435235124435 times per video :) Just sort of carried over to all the videos now :)
