Very helpful video thanks. I managed to split two 50mm thick flagstone pavers rather neatly. It pays to be patient as I cracked some smaller sections by being in a rush. Slow and steady wins the day.

I want to cut a 600mm x 600mm x 38mm slab diagonally in half but i am worried that the corners will be too week and break off. Can it be done with a hammer and chisel.

I haven't tried a diagonal split with the big slabs of the video, but in principle it should be possible. In the past I succeeded with smaller slabs (30x30cm), but sometimes it went wrong. So I share your anxious premonitions.
