Funny thing is Dr Martens themselves has been selling “bootleg” Dr Martens for the past 20 or so years

@@PutiTheCat Yeah. They were once good quality boots, made in England that you could easily get ten plus years out of. They’re none of that now (a huge majority of them at least). Quality and feel is no where near what they were, they definitely feel and wear like a bootleg version of what they were.

Everything on my 1461 looks about right but the only thing that’s off is the logo stamp on the insoles for one of the shoes is a little off to the side 😅

I got duped by TEMU. I should have known 30 bucks was too low. I discovered they didn't weigh enough and there was no logo inside.

I think I purchased a pair of fake DM Mono Black. I didn’t really mind it tbh. No one is going to check your shoes and/or call you out for it either. 😃😃 I hope no one else gets scammed though but even if you do, just rock them like they’re “legit”

I have no problem wearing fake Dr Martens as long as I've only paid the much cheaper 'fake' price, I'd have a problem if I've paid full price thinking they're original real shoes/boots though that's why I only buy direct from the shop!

Helpful video! Just got nostalgic for the 3 eye Oxford's I wore as a teen in the 90's. I can't believe how many cheaply- made knockoffs have flooded the market! Easily 75% of the pre-owned & allegedly vintage boots & shoes I looked at online had labels that read Made in Thailand, China, Vietnam, etc. Just finding out DM moved most of their production to Asian countries. Idk, they just seem to have lost their quality & attention to detail. Found a gorgeous circa 70s/80s pair on eBay & negotiated a great deal. The hunt is part of the fun.

You can check out Solovair, they used to be a manufacturer for DM but split off when they moved production to asia. They still offer the same quality and design as back then

Hi. I just got a pair of 1461 but I don't know if it is real or not. Mine has black stitches but the picture on the box has yellow stitches. Also when I scan the QR code on the box, it shows a picture of 1461 on Google but doesn't go to the main website. Any opinion?

So I bought a pair of smooth leather oxfords at Ross and since it’s my first pair I know nothing. They did not come with a box and I also don’t know if they are women’s or unisex. I bought a 7 which is my normal size and they fit great. I visited a doc store and tried on a pair of crazy horse oxfords and I needed a 6. Would this be due to perhaps mine are women’s and the crazy horse are unisex? This made me question authenticity but once again I have no clue. Please help!
