Hi, I have both the 1461 and 3989 in the same size. But I find 3989 is more roomy than the 1461. Always hurt my heel when I wear the 1461 🥲 and I have a bit of the wide feet. 1461 Smooth Leather (Made In Lao) 3989 Smooth Leather (Made in Thailand) The shoes for both had already break in. And just recently, I was thinking to buy Adrian Bex, any size suggest on the Adrian?

Just had my Doc Marten shoes re-soled with 'solovair' (made in England) soles... wasn't cheap (£70), but cheaper than buying a new pair. Got the best of both worlds😉

Wear thin dress socks inside your thicker socks. It helps so much with boots and it's what they had us do in basic training.

So I bought a pair of smooth leather oxfords at Ross and since it’s my first pair I know nothing. They did not come with a box and I also don’t know if they are women’s or unisex. I bought a 7 which is my normal size and they fit great. I visited a doc store and tried on a pair of crazy horse oxfords and I needed a 6. Would this be due to perhaps mine are women’s and the crazy horse are unisex? This made me question authenticity but once again I have no clue. Please help!

I have been eyeing like a hawk on the penton loafers of docs and i have searching for days now regarding its sizing and quality. Literally went to many sites like quora, reddit, vlogs, review websites, tiktok, and even dr martens official website but im still troubled as to whether or not to buy a pair myself 😭 I know i want to own some decent loafers really bad but i treat my footwear expenses as investment so now im having second thoughts 🥲 Im asian myself but im also really critical with the fact that most DM are made in Asia because all my life i have mostly had made in asian countries stuff and they don't last for many years its actually so frustrating to find really good quality stuff that match their high price 🙃 Are the made in Asia dr martens still worth the price though? Cant buy solovair too it doesnt directly ship to my country Im so conflicted 😭😭

I read somewhere that the made in England 1460's are pointier and more narrow than the standard ones. What do you think?

This was just what I was looking for.. Thanks for the straight to the point comparison! Do you have any thoughts on these vs. the "strapped version" of the Birkenstock Boston, the Tokio? Love the look of the Jorge II but prefer the weight of the Birks. Also wish there was a way to convert or remove the back straps of the Jorge II and Tokio for a true mule/clog experience...

In my experience it nice but for me need a liitle bit break in the leather was quite hard If Im walking and bending on the toe part quite hurt though not like the soft leather docs.

I’ve had both soft leather and vegan in the red 1460- with the vegan being platformed. The vegan red is my favourite color, but the material is weak. The color had chipped from the toe within a month- exposing a black material under the red, with further degradation of the leather around the creases in the toe fold area throughout the years causing the shoes to loose thier water proof/resistance. I’m other words, my feet get wet when I wear them in heavy rain or snow. From a sole perspective, my first pair lasted 6 years, and the second (vegan) are going strong after 6 years. So all in all, I wouldn’t ever buy vegan again. Which is a shame to have inferior quality for Vegans who don’t wear leather for ethical reasons, but shell out $250cad for the brand.

I’ve only owned 1460s up to this point but I wanted some Chelsea boots and I love crazy horse leather I have the pascal waxed full grain boots (a waxed crazy horse according to DM) and after those quickly became my favourite I decided I’d need some Chelsea boots in a similar kind of leather

I own the patent leather docs, they’re like rocks. I love the shoe, but they need to fit you perfectly in the store as they don’t break in. I’ve owned mine for 6 years, they wear really well, they’re durable, but they’re not for walking miles in.

Wear them with shorts. Your only way out. Not my kind of DM's All the best!

Which one do you prefer? The Carlson or the Jorge?

I have both styles, the Carlson fur lined and the strap is really floppy.but did size down in case and the Jorge are going strong and easier to wear

Peeing in your boots and leaving them overnight to soften is an old, old army trick. You can also try rubbing neatsfoot oil into any particularly stiff parts of the boots, eg the band up the back of the heel.
