Later I picked it back up and saw the website that was sending it and went 'oh yeah this is a scam' so i just shut off notifications from the website and nothing has happened yet so.

I got one today that looked like a Microsoft anti virus screen and it "talked" to me stating that my financial information was at risk and not to shut off the computer. I copied the phone number and unplugged the pc (I know that's not the best way, but I wasn't clicking on anything). I called the number on my landline. Someone answered in two rings (Definitely not any tech support I ever called!). I asked what company they were and they said "Computer Servicing - Do you have a problem?" I said no and hung up. I then unplugged my wireless router, turned the pc back on and went into my browser. Obviously it didn't connect to the internet since the router was off. I closed the browser and ran a quick scan on Norton. Then closed the pc properly, plugged the router back in and everything seems to work. I am currently running a full scan on Norton.

The point of a virus is stay undetected. If you get a pop up saying you have x amount of viruses, it’s fake. They are just trying to get you to download the real virus.

Tip: Hold windows key + r to open the Run app, type mrt in the input and press enter. It will pop up a scan option, choose full scan to scan the pc for viruses

When I was younger, I got a fake virus scam. Since I was stupid, I got super frightened. It had a countdown and I rushed to “download” an app that would help fix it. However, I had screen time restrictions, and I had just ran out of screen time when I tried to download. Because of this I didn’t download the app. Since I was stupid, I thought my phone was going to explode or do something like that. Nothing happened. At night when I was trying to sleep, I realized it was a scam. True story by the way. Also, I was 7 and had just got my first phone, so yeah. Edit: TLTR: Screen time restrictions saves a stupid kid from getting scammed.

Pretty useful the Same thing goes with IPhone correct? Like this onetime I visited a p*rn website then it immediately said “ Someone must’ve gained control of your camera”. It was a notification in the website tho on the bottom right corner. I exited out the tab and deleted my history and I didn’t see that again. Shut off my phone. Then got back on it then couple days later, I see nothing suspicious no email or text, even in settings it says there nothing wrong with my password. That means I should be 100% ok huh.
