@@mango-vb5vd The real horror cow is that girl that buddy trolled him and fueled his delusions. You shouldn't touch the cows. We are seeing more trolls reach out and touch the cows. Which sucks because sometimes it goes to far. I'm watching the CYRAXX stuff unfold and sending people to a house to take property is a bit to far. Especially when they try to take vehicles or take down parts of the property that doesn't even belong to them.

Randy Stair's incident happened about 45 minutes away from me, and honestly, I remember hearing more about the victims than Randy himself. It was quickly forgotten by the county. That's how it should be. A lot of these killers want infamy and by taking that from them they're denied it. Personally I think anytime a mass shooter is mentioned on TV or in the media, they should be referred to by a slur and only a slur that fits them.

Chris Cham is the saddest case of a litmus test for humanity , it would have probably only take 1 or 2 people to genuinely be his friend and steer his life in a much better direction or for the school system to accommodate his issues . Or for his parents to actually give him the help and attention he needed . But at every step of the way Chris either didn’t get the help he needed or more commonly people actively acted to screw him over . I like to believe humanity is inherently good but seeing how people plotted this mentally I’ll man’s downfall over a 10 year span makes that hard to believe

It honestly kind of scares me how if just a few things in my life/ upbringing was different, I could be a Randy Stair. As an autistic bipolar lgbt kid, our interests were eerily similar. And we both tried desperately to find human connection through the internet. I spent HOURS in the shower so the mirror would be so fogged that I couldn't see my reflection. And back then there was little to no exposure for being trans or nonbinary. And I was so filled with hate (esp for my mother, dad was looong gone), I idolized fucking Ed Kemper. At 16 I was making paintings of him and editing photos of us together. Eek. Its just sad. Part of me wants to say I wish he could have been redeemed. But then I consider his victim's and think THEY deserved the chance to grow older and be the people THEY could have been. Wish more people talked about how the internet has ruined so many children for the rest of their lives.

I came to the comments to say pretty much the same thing. Especially considering some of the sites I grew up on, things could be a lot worse than they are. I'm by no means a good person, but I got myself in counseling and I'm trying to permanently get out of an environment that was really taking a toll on me. Environment, and the people around you, influence behavior in a big way. There were some pretty scary thoughts going through my head but things are getting better now that there's some distance between me and all that. I've gotten out and socialized more IRL, been seeking out medical care more, and while I'm still not exactly stable, at least in this instant it feels like things aren't so bad. Things are hard sometimes but nobody's life is perfect. I'm happy you're not a horrorcow

i've always found Chris-Chan's story pretty sad, seeing as they clearly struggled with some mental issues, but instead of receiving help, their access to the internet and readiness to broadcast themselves (which i am not blaming them for; after all it's not bad in itself to do so) gave the "gawkers", the sort of people who will be scum if they are anonymous/don't have to fear consequences, ample opportunity to interact. and those interactions were aimed at pushing Chris further, poking with sticks and throwing fuel on the fire, simply because they saw an opportunity to entertain themselves by trying to make a marionette out of a vulnerable person. i won't excuse everything Chris did, but i'm of the firm opinion that the unhelpful attention they got from cruel people paired with a lack of proper help created the circumstances that led to some of the more deprived things Chris did. and the internet continues to point and laugh and gawk and attempt to fuel the fire.

Unfortunately most of them probably would. Randy had a lot of problems that were almost entirely unrelated to the internet and was mostly unknown until he killed people. People like Nick Bates, SnakeThing and the Zoo Crew, and the countless other sex pest horrorcows are so obviously twisted at their core that nothing would have stopped them from becoming monsters. With Chris chan it's easy to point at all the things that are the fault of trolls and say he would be fine if not for them, but when you look at how he behaved even before the trolling he still shows signs of potentially being a problem. I wouldn't say it's guaranteed in his case but the chances are decently higher than zero.

To play devil's advocate here: Randy Stair did not really have access to transgender services, at that time it was not as common as it is today, people forget that it used to be VERY hard to get help for gender dysphoria, my first therapist told me to "deal with it" when I first came out. That being said, I don't think it would have made any difference, Randy's parents failed him, he should have been in therapy from a young age, instead his "parents" ignored him until he killed people.

Northeastern PA still clings on to this "coal miner's mentality" as I call it. Meaning that, to boomer parents, the only thing important in your life is a job and income no matter how back-breaking or how little paying. Mental health is sadly ignored most of the time, especially when it comes to complex issues such as gender identity. It's treated as a joke. Suck it up and get a job, crybaby. That's the usual response. It's honestly a generational issue.

If the only thing that was happening was him being a fictionkin and making edgy videos he wouldn't have done that, so clearly there is a problem that nobody knows or nobody is talking about.

Yeah, like I used to be in kinnie communities and my friends and I still kin despite not being in those communities anymore. While yeah kinnie communities are full of absolute weirdos sometimes, it's mostly harmless and arguably a lot of new age stuff is just as "crazy" as fictionkin. I see that incident as no different from when a horror fan kills someone when inspired by horror. It's not horror or other weird subcultures that made them do it, it was their choice to do that or severe untreated mental illness that made them do that. Most horror fans, and most fictionkin people, while weird, never go on to kill people.

@@descasatou You miss the point and a critical understanding in human psychology. What happens to them alters probabilities of certain behaviors that come from within them by their gene expression. Yes an ideal life being lived could and likely would have improved him. But we do not live ideal lives. It is likely he had a mental dysfunction either early in life or manifested itself at his genes expressing at puberty, thus with time and a lackluster mundane family life as new neural pathways formed they built upon the malformed previous pathways. The point is a bad foundation is a much harder thing to change by altering the realistic conditions of the construction, it can be mitigated or accounted for, but a good foundation with below average to moderate construction practices will likely still produce an adequate building and any defects will have a clear indicator of what went wrong during construction; a structure with no clear indicator of what when wrong during construction when it has a catastrophic failure it is safe to deduce it was likely a problem in it's foundation.

I totally agree. As someone who has experienced gender dysphoria, it can come across just like an obsession with a certain character or person. When dysphoria mixes with other mental illnesses, it can be volatile like that. It can be so intense that it causes you to harm yourself or others. It's not an excuse for any of those actions, but if it was treated properly, those events probably wouldn't have happened.

The first Horrorcow was Bjorks stalker! Pre internet too. I’m still creeped the f out by watching the video of him losing his crap over a couple hours. Anyway, we seem to need a sort of non-invasive type of protocol for the situations when we kinda know we’re seeing someone slowly either killing themselves, preparing to go hurt a real life sonichu, or just going into some very dark headspace. Like, this stuff is uncomfortable as hell. Chris Chan is tricky too, cuz u wanna like respect the dude, and it seems like he’s playing the game too in a way…..bbbbbbwhat!?!?? Chris banged his mom!!?!! Wtf? I watched like 3 hour doc on that mutherfucker n thought he went to prison for like cashing his moms checks or something! Omg! He…..Jesus Christ! Was she alive!? Randy is actually more sad than anything, if I didn't have the friends I have I wouldve done the same thing, I had a very dark phase in my life from my gender dysphoria, I thought my life was a mistake and I couldn't stand to live like a man, I planned to make a suit of armor as ridiculously heavy as possible I saved up 12000 dollars and at my peak was able to carry 300 pounds on relatively long walks. I planned to kill anyone I came across with a sword cementing my name as a mass murderer who used a sword rather than a gun. Then I met a friend and I mellowed out and got a therapist. This point is very sensitive and painful and I really think that equating it to the person holding the gun is helping nothing.
