I think not posting all your thoughts on the internet is a good start. I'm autistic, and I did get into dumb shit back in the day due to me taking everything seriously. I also wanted to be a youtuber and Twitch streamer. I quickly realized I had the charisma of a wet cat. Self reflection is also necessary in not becoming a lolcow.

I'm Autistic too. I could say being at least mildly self-aware is what has kept me from being an online lolcow, but it's not. In reality, it's the fact that I've always been too insecure to post myself unabashedly like most lolcows do. I tend to do/say stupid shit because of my autisim/adhd so I've become a lolcow irl. At least I'm not on blast for millions of people to feed off of my humiliation, though. I'm so glad almost nobody knows I exist.

How to not become a Lolcow/meme/Soyjak? 1: Do not go out in public. 2: Do not have an expressive face. 3: Allow no photos or similar images of you to be taken. 4: Do not get on social media or post on any forum. That's about it.

Actually no. None of this. Just dont go on social media websites and make a fool of yourself. Thats really all thats it. Dont make videos about yourself, dont engage in conversations that you know very little about. And if you are a music creator create an alter ego in where that person in charge of your music no your real self. Dont film yourself crying. Lolcowdom is easy: Never under any circumstances reflect on your own actions. Never under any circumstances let even the most insignificant slight go without a reaction, even if all your reaction ends up being is telling everyone how you won't react. Make sure to capture every moment of your life that is SFW and post it somewhere visible. For added spice, attack larger or smaller content creators who may or may not be minding their own business in an attempt to start beef with them.

It's scary that I could have ended up becoming one I had many traits similar to lolcows and if I didn't start to take stock of my behavior I could have ended up like them. I'm autistic, have obsessive unusual interests for my age,and bad social skills and poor understanding of social cues. I think what saved me was I don't share very much about myself online im very private and don't want anyone to know who I am or where I live.I wouldn't even feel comfortable if someone saw the wall of my room yet some people overshare everything.

@@rebel4466 I think with someone like Chris chan autism wasn't the defining negative trait it was narcissism, entitlement, and laziness.Chris could never look inword and release "Maybe I'm the problem." For generations everyday people daydream about being famous. Now with the internet and social media platforms anyone can have a shot at it. I'm not sure if some people are just not aware of how their actions appear to others, or if they can't tell the difference between good and bad attention. Perhaps a more individualistic society has made this more of a problem. I was raised to never put your employability in jeopardy, and my survival depended on conforming and being useful to the world, such values seem like foreign concepts anymore.

There's unfortunately another piece of the puzzle. A lot of lolcows are either autistic or are neurodivergent in some way and they don't understand how to ignore or how to handle this kind of trolling and mockery. I am someone who is on the spectrum and a lot of times certain jokes or word puns can fly over my head, but back in the day I was a bit of an "IRL LOLCow" in school. I didn't know how to not respond when people would say things that would bother me or be mean or annoying around me. Eventually I learned it was just best to ignore it all; I still have trouble trying to ignore the trolling and getting into skirmishes, but I am getting better at ignoring it and I am noticing better when I make mistakes and do my best to just change the channel and move on.

Lolcows are the modern day freak show. They are here for others to watch in amazement, wondering how so much can go so wrong so spectacularly. I must admit that I enjoy a good train wreck, but I also sometimes feel guilty for getting some enjoyment out of their antics. There are lolcows who have no business being on the internet and who really need to get help. For example, as much as I enjoy watching the terrible cooking videos and assorted strange behavior of KingCobraJFS, I would be overjoyed if he would get off the internet and get whatever help he needs in order to lead a more sane and healthy existence. Chris Chan is a cautionary tale. Going far down the path of the lolcow only leads to disaster, and at some point, there is no coming back. Chris Chan is a lost cause now, but I hope Cobes finds his way out of it before he does something truly monstrous. The ruination of a person's life is a high price to pay for some cheap entertainment.

1.Take care of yourself and your environment if you wish to show those things to the internet (chris Chan house tour) 2.Roll with the jokes and be self aware about yourself and your possible shortcomings 3.Never, ever, EVER, freak out and have a full on rage induced meltdown in public nor on camera. That’s just about where every lolcow gets the biggest spotlight put in them 4.Don’t over share personal details 5.Try not to interact with the trolls, trying to reason with someone who wants nothing more than more embarrassing content from you is like talking to a brick wall

I think 1, 4, and 5 are basically all just manifestations of setting boundaries. I think that may be the most important thing here, since basically no lolcows really have a CONCEPT of boundaries. Like...despite acting absurd on stream, having a weirdly obsessive fanbase and a cloud of rumors of questionable origin surrounding him, nobody would ever call Jerma a lolcow, because Jerma has boundaries. He won't turn his facecam on if he's not dressed or his room looks like shit, he won't share personal details about people in his life who aren't streamers themselves (e.g. his girlfriend), and every unhinged freakout he's had on camera has been a masterfully crafted bit.

I'm too self aware to be one apparently, I have a troll group who follows me and they're starting to lose interest already. I'm intentionally funny anyways. I'm also into detachment when it comes to people so I don't always respond to people, I just like being alone. I don't really have many psychological problems though, only being inattentive and a traumatic past. A lot of people say I'm too intelligent in some aspects and entertaining, but not really lolcowish.

Hey hey hey, don't you dare talk shit about Review Bruh. He may be a junk food connoisseur and dress in the illest fitting suits, but there's something really wholesome about the guy. Like, to my knowledge there's no record of him behaving like an actual human waste, and the memes he gave birth to are Internet classics. He doesn't deserve to be featured anywhere near DSP, Wings, and the rest of the asshats, not even Chris Chan, who at the very least has some genuine excuse for acting in the weirdest ways. But at least the latter has a history of shitty behavior that can't be explained away by his tism. RB deserves better tho.

Inability to take responsibility is the one consistent thing I see among different lolcows. It’s never their fault. This it makes them impervious to any useful advice, or anything they simply need to hear.
