Not an expert, but Lab-Grown is made up of the same stuff a Natural Diamond is, with the exception that generally it's "too perfect" because of the nature of the controlled growing process. CZ as shown above is totally different material, and Moissanite is a different material as well, but is a little softer on the Mohs Scale, yet Moiss is also much more refractive and brilliant, with a different type of refraction ("double refraction"). Cubic Zirconia is made of Zirconium Dioxide. Natural Diamonds are made of carbon. Just a random thought, but most diamond colors come from impurities getting mixed in during the forming of the diamond, giving it a slightly different hue. Yellow diamonds has Nitrogen incorporated. Blue diamonds contain Boron. Red diamonds are cool, because instead of contaminates, it forms red due to plastic deformation to the crystal lattice structure as the atoms forming the diamond move through a deposit off Kimberlite.
