There might be a tag that could tell you if it's safe to do a surface cleaning. Without having the item in hand, I can't really give direction on what to do. If you do want to wash it, try a small, inconspicuous spot first and see how it goes.

Without knowing exactly what you have, I really don't have any advice for treating that type of stain. It probably needs strong chemicals or heat to at least kill the mold, however, either or both of those methods might damage your item. Mold can be a health risk, not just a cosmetic defect like I'm treating in this video.

You could try something like a Shout! Spray on it. If that doesn't work, it's time to evaluate how far you want to go. Stronger options might fade any coloring. Fabric stores often have more invasive stain removers. Also you could wash her with oxy clean. If nothing else, just stain the rest of it with Mac n' cheese and make it a unique character!

I got myself a vintage Japanese stuffed cat off of EBay. He came in being dirty and his care label said to only surface clean him . Since I never bought plushies second handed before let alone dealing with dirty plushies… ima try this ^^ Also, I have some yellowish stains on his fur which is from the glue that’s responsible for holding his eyes and mouth together on his face. Since he is white, how do I get rid of the yellow glue stains?

Without knowing exactly what kind of glue and fur, it's hard to give direction. It's probably best to leave glue alone since solvents might dissolve or discolor the fur.

You should try using a mild solution of diluted white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide to remove the glue stain. Dab the stained areas gently and test in an safe spot first to see if it’s gentle on the polyester fur/fabric. Hope this helps (:

You may have removed the stains, but it’s likely you made this plush even dirtier by placing him in the sink. Sinks accumulate germs faster than anything else in your household.

I'm embarking on spot cleaning a Stitch plush. He's not too bad, but I want to pass him on with no stains. How well do you do just hitting the spots? I can see snoopy might need a thorough cleaning because of his color.

Good luck in your cleaning! Spot cleaning usually goes well, depending on the type of stain. I would suggest trying spot cleaning before going full cleaning. Start small, then escalate when trying to clean. The smaller the intervention you can do, the better. Overall, I think his color is either naturally a little off-white, or the material just yellows with age. Also, the bathroom lighting is yellow-ish. In person, he looks just fine and doesn't seem dirty or aged on his own.

@@Collectpeanuts I was successful! The two Stitches are looking lovely now. Minimal shampoo helped. I used a toothbrush to lightly scrub the spots in addition to my 'towel rags' which came out beautifully. Stitch is ready for his close up, Mr. DeMille!"🎥

Did you try makeup remover? try it in an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it won't damage your stuffed animal. Then you could try it on the damaged area.
