Thanks for this detailed video! I watched some others before this one and none were as detailed as yours! You definitely deserve more credit. Also, I now know that every cartridge I bought on eBay in the last couple of years is fake. Only my old childhood games are genuine. 🙆🏻‍♀️

Thanks for the comment; it's much appreciated 🙂 Shame though that your recent buys have been fake....there's a lot of dodgy buggers out there online! Hopefully if they're advertised well, you won't make those mistakes again now... if the seller doesn't have good, clear photos, then ignore it.... 😉

@@stevesstuff1450 Yeah it’s really a shame but they weren’t overly expensive (which should have been my first clue) and I’ll definitely be more vigilant in the future. The cartridges I opened up earlier looked absolutely dreadful with glue all over them. Next time I buy online or locally, I’ll insist on pictures or a closer look or I won’t buy.

I only have a copy of Metroid zero mission and I was interested in starting my collection. I'm just afraid of all the fakes on the market. I'll buy maybe from lukiegames and I'll look up my Metroid with the tips you gave. Well done for the video thx !

For anyone reading this, the 4 squares for GBA games that are clear like pokemon is no longer a good way to look for fakes. It can be faked now.

I opened up my fake zoids cartridge when the save got reset and it had a battery, I don't think it had the nintendo name on the bottom opening of the board and it didn't have the gold squares on the corners.

Yep, just got my Y-Wing Screwdriver today only to find out after using it that I had: _____________________ 1 FAKE LeafGreen 1 FAKE Sapphire 1 FAKE Ruby and not one but THREE FAKE cursed Chinese Emerald pokemon cartidges Funny part is the Sapphire & 2 Emerald cartridges do let me trade between them, for now anyways... :/

Probably real...I've never seen a fake with numbers stamped into the paper label... 😏 Best way to find out is to open the case and look for the 'square' panel on the back of the board - as shown in the video... 👍🏻

I have a crocked sticker on a legit pokemon yellow pikachu edition. Never noticed it until a few days ago when I actually looked at it.

True...they do, but not normally, and I've never seen one as crooked as with the fake Pokemon cart. that I showed! ;-)

Just found out my Super Mario Advance 4 game is fake :( which is a shame cuz I got it for just 5 dollars, and all the real ones sell for hundreds

Is the factory imprint always the same for one game because I see the same game with different sequences and in different places

If you mean the one imprinted into the label, then it's different; It may be a production batch number, perhaps? The sure-fire way to know is to open the cartridge and look at the back of the board; that square of copper smaller squares is always there on a genuine cartridge (top left of board).
