My biggest pet peeve sellers claiming to have 100% genuine malachite when I can clearly see its fake. I bought a genuine one on ebay but for every real malachite I see I see 10 fake ones, and the bids on them are over $20!! I wish I could get ahold of the bidders and tell them. I've actually messaged the sellers and ask them how they can sleep knowing how devious and manipulative they are.

Thank you so much for this Barbie! Love your detective work btw--the reverse images of the fake malachite pendant fooled me! I bought what I thought was a malachite pendant for $45. Trusting that it was from a psychic and they sold gemstones and crystals, this is malachite--the color at the time was a deep solid green. Over the years, this stone has actually "protected" me. Perhaps the "belief" in it had made me think that I had a genuine malachite pendant. I then started to notice that it is now fading turning a light green and looking white. It looks like speckled glass now. There are no orbs or more than one color. Hmm...

@ColdBrewBarbie4 жыл бұрын
Spaz Tastic raw malachite is very dry, has a slight hue of white chalk like color but still is green, they wouldn’t be able to make it into a bead shape without polishing it. So for sure that bracelet could not be frosted and real. Raw malachite is more dangerous too so you would want to wear that on the skin

Thank you. I bought a piece a long time ago in Egypt. For what I was earning at the time, it was very expensive. Recently my brother was adamant it was fake and I was more than a little gutted by the thought. But from this (and a good light on a magnifying lamp) it looks legit to me. There’s like 5 or 6 diff shades of green and the darkest is def dark green and not black. I don’t think it’s a very good piece (made into a very slim obelisk with the spire glued onto the base) but I do think it’s real. I know the ancient Egyptians got malachite and copper from Sinai so maybe that adds credence to it being real.
@besagara4 жыл бұрын
what if they step up their game and include more than 3 shades in the future? i'm kinda scared that some sellers have already caught on and are selling fake malachite but with more complex colors.

The best way to make sure you are buying genuine malachite is to purchase from reputable sellers and not just a random website online! Also it’s not only the color you need to watch but the patter should be complicated with orbs. Shop only with sellers who have return policies as well!
