That's definitely the best way to make a ring. I learned by making a few niches in a piece of posterboard. I can't stand making stencils but I definitely need to make one for rings😒
@JonBarberArt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and feedback it's really appreciated :) I have tried the way using the card with notches in it but it never really turned out the way i wanted it too, so i decided to make a stencil instead to see how it would work and turn out , i think the stencil way looks a lot better then the card with notches in , Yes it takes a lot longer to make the stencil and paint the ring but i think it's worth it :)

im sure this is a comment somewhere but where do you get the plastic pieces at i use newspaper and its ok but feel like the plastic is the way to go for best results
@JonBarberArt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ryan, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the question, I really appreciate it :) The Plastic sheet I use is part of a large bag that I cut up so it's easier to use, I got them from a place I use to work, they were throwing lots of them in a skip, so I took them, I don't know anything about them or where I would get any more from, all I know is they are a large plastic bag, sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

what lid did you use here? every lid i use, when i lift it up there’s always the planet then a black ring then more color.
@JonBarberArt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and question I really appreciate it :) The lid i'm using are old food tub lids, Are you using colours in the background of your painting? and what kind of lids are you using? Let me know and then i can help you better :)
@andrewreichhart81613 жыл бұрын
@@JonBarberArt Yes i use color for the background too, i just use random objects around the house that are circular, and they always have rings, do i let the paint dry then put the cover on?
@JonBarberArt3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew, I think by the sound of what you are saying that when you spray the colours on the background that they are not going right to the edge of your lids when you spray them, so then it would leave a tiny thin line between your planet and the coluors you have used. If you are adding colours around your planets try and spray around the lids at a angle spraying towards the lids lightly so it doesn't go under the lid, this way you shouldn't have a black line around your planet then, I hope this makes sense and helps you out :) If you need to know anything else feel free to ask :) P.S i may do a video in the future showing the difference :)

Hi. I'm very interested in what you do and would like to have a go myself. However looking on ebay everything is so expensive. Can I ask where do you buy your supplies ie spray paint and brand. Paper and type. Also do the suppliers do postage. If you don't know Can you supply addresses please. I also wonder how many pictures could you get out of a Can of 250ml on A2 size Paper. I know it depends on coverage but let's say a planet picture.

Well, I really think people should let it dry a bit or use hair dryer on it before you toss those stars on. If they dry with the paint or on top.of anything wet they tend to spread out a little. As everything dries it looks kinda bad.
