You would get an even coat on the plain satin black if you used a roller instead. But you're right, using a light primer requires more coats of color coat to hide the primer. Sometimes a dark primer is better for quick jobs.

Hey, is there a colour stated on the textured spray? I see on their website they have several colours titled "multicoloured" which all appear to be in the same can, but have different coloured lids. The one closest to the one you appear to have is the "aged iron" option. Can you confirm if that's the one you got please? :)
