Awesome video... I am planning something similar (steps not a walkway but basically the same) and I have 1 critical question. From the moment the concrete is ready for stamping, how long do you have to work it? I'm hoping to be able to order the concrete truck for the pour but I am a bit concerned I won't have enough time to stamp all steps before the concrete gets too dry
@dcwoodworks6 ай бұрын
I wish I had a better answer as this was my concern also. My walk way is about 30 feet long and 3 feet side. I probably could of skipped mixing the concrete myself and got a truck but I wouldn't go further then that unless you have more stamps. Some videos i've seen, they use 4-5 stamps at a time and it moves MUCH faster then with only one. all in all I had about an hour of good working time, I could of pushed that to 1.5 hours. the concrete just starts to set up and you have to be more agressive hope that helps!!

Hi, how did you create the curving formwork , where your path turns 90 degrees in a curve?
@dcwoodworks5 ай бұрын
I used 3/8 thick ply wood so its extremely bendable. but you can also use regualr ply wood but you have to cut a ton of relief cuts in it for it to bend. use thin ply, its the easiest, just brace it a lot

Can do this on old concrete walkway without moving the old surface ??
@dcwoodworks4 ай бұрын
This is a question. I’ve been asked a lot. And although I don’t know the true answer from a professional. I do think it’s possible. What I would do first make sure that there are no visible signs that the ground beneath the existing concrete walkway is giving away or shifting Second, I would absolutely poor 3 inches or more of concrete over the top . And I would also probably double the rebar that’s it. don’t skip your relief cuts either in case it ships and cracks. It will crack in those joints. I hope that helps Maybe someone else can chime in if they’ve done this??

I've used a pitch fork to consolidate along the edges and release air bubble 😅 use whatever you got 😊

can you put concrete on top old old cracked concrete?
@dcwoodworks9 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t and I don’t think you’re supposed to. It’ll eventually shift and crack the new concrete

Thanks for subbing!! I cant find the one I bought either.. The only thing on it is a stamp on the back that says BONWAY

@@dcwoodworks Thank you for the reply. I searched for Bondway concrete stamps. Found them on Amazon but not the stamp you used. What they do have is affordable stamps and rollers. Thanks again God Bless

@dcwoodworks4 ай бұрын
you have to stamp wet concrete. not dry

Just a simple tip! Tap the form work with a hammer 🔨 that will raise the air bubbles, and make it easier for a top finish 👍
