omg thank you!!! I took the key out of the fob and put that up to the button but it wasn't working. putting it back in the fob and aligning with the logo did the trick!

I have an issue where the only light on the panel that blinks is the security light (red lock). It's as if the vehicle is not recognizing the fob at all, even though the fob battery is new (and correctly in place, no polarity mistake). The issue is that it randomly works, where the engine starts. Could the issue be my 12v needs replacing?

Will this work if you're also having to jump start the car because the main 12v battery died? Ours needs a new battery but I know the key also needed a battery replacement (was getting low and we had had the car for 7 years w/o a new fob battery) so I replaced the fob battery and can't get it to jump start.

No - this won't help if the vehicle does not have enough power due to the vehicle battery

Yes. There is a chip reader near the stop/start button that can read the chip in the fob if it is held close enough - even if the fob has no power

hi dear i had same issue . looks my car battery dead . remove battery and charge fully. next day when i reinstall my car battery car key does not work... i use this method to start my car all time now but my central locking does not work . i close car manually . do i have to reprogramming my key again.? any idea ?replace battery in to both key , try to reconnect both key both did not works now. any suggestions ? if you are sure the new batteries are good and installed properly - there may be a deeper issue with vehicle itself if you are having the same problem with multiple fobs.

I thought this fix wasn't working but after sliding the key out to unlock your door you need to slide it back in before holding it up to the power button!
